SPACETIDE Foundation is a Tokyo-based non-profit organization. Our mission is to promote new space businesses worldwide. Each year we host a business conference, SPACETIDE. The first event was held in 2015 and was attended by 500+ people. At this conference, we welcome speakers from startups, universities, space corporations, non-space companies, the government, and venture capitalists/investors from different countries. The aim is to bring together like-minded people who are interested in space and associated business opportunities.

    🌕 Japan's Advancements in Space Tourism and Exploration 🌕 Space Tourism / Migration: Efforts towards lunar transportation are underway, with Yspace partnering on logistics for lunar missions and ONETABLE supplying space food to the ISS. These initiatives are crucial in demonstrating the feasibility of space travel and supporting human activities beyond Earth. Space Exploration / Space Mining: The first private-sector moon landing was attempted in April 2023. Although unsuccessful, lessons were learned, and further missions are in the pipeline. ispace has been actively forming partnerships, including agreements with Skyroot, HEX20, and Orbit Fab, to establish sustainable space operations and fuel lunar exploration. Japan is making significant strides in space tourism and exploration, setting the stage for future missions and commercial opportunities in the lunar economy.     Thanks again to Atsushi Mizushima and Rodolphe Ruffié-Farrugia for this insightful session on the legal challenges of lunar resources utilization - how to build up from the foundations of the OST with adaptive governance and a solid dispute resolution framework. An important topic that is too often overlooked on the commercial side of things, but nonetheless essential for the safe, sustainable and peaceful development of the cislunar economy.
