Yesterday was a proud day for our company, our low-carbon emissions XCarb® steel… and our Executive Chairman Mr. Lakshmi Mittal and Chief Executive Aditya Mittal, who were both honoured to carry the Olympic torch on the Canal Saint Martin, on the final leg of its three-month journey from Olympia to Paris before it lit the Olympic cauldron – officially kick-starting this year’s Games – yesterday evening.   We are proud to be an official partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In addition to manufacturing the 2,000 torches that have been used for the torch relay, we have also manufactured the Olympic and Paralympic Spectaculars – the Rings that hang on the Eiffel Tower and the Agitos (the Paralympic symbol) that sit on the Arc de Triomphe.   Supporting Paris 2024’s ambition that this year’s event be the most sustainable in history, all have been manufactured with our XCarb® recycled and renewably produced low-carbon emissions steel, which has a carbon footprint of less than half that of steel made using traditional steelmaking methods. To read more about our contribution to the most sustainable ever Olympic and Paralympic Games, and watch our film series that explores how we made the torches and the Spectaculars, head to https://lnkd.in/ey_HzP-8
