#JDNproject • Big news! We get to build a new container quay at the port of Valencia, Spain. The port authority appreciated our environmental approach that minimises the impact on nature and the surroundings. We plan to reuse as much of the 25 million cubic metres of dredged material for the quay construction as feasible, leaving virtually no need to transport in additional soil. Some more details: ✅We will dredge 25 million cubic metres of material and reuse it to build the new quay. ✅The port's commercial capacity will increase from seven to twelve million containers yearly. ✅The works will take 58 months, just under five years. • #proudtobeJDN #dredging #PortValencia #Spain #Valencia

#JDNproject • Works for the expansion of Port Hedland in Australia have started! The works include a deeper access to the port, a swing basin and berth pockets. Ultimately, they will culminate in two additional cargo berths, increasing cargo capacity. Nice to know: ✅We will reclaim an area of 10 hectares of land. ✅We will dredge up to one million cubic metres of sediment. ✅Strict environmental requirements apply throughout the campaign. • #proudtobeJDN #dredging #PortHedland #Australia Pilbara Ports

#JDNfleet • Have a look at our very first plug-in hybrid dredging vessel. Tailor-made to perform in small harbours: agile and flexible. With very big ambitions in the field of durability: quiet and emission-free. As a DC hybrid plug-in with ULEv (Ultra Low Emission) technology and a EURO 6 engine that runs on biofuel, the vessel is highly innovative, with a big potential to reduce our carbon footprint. A small hopper dredger with big capabilities. • #ULEv #dredging #jandenul #emissions

#ProudtobeJDN • Congratulations to our colleague Mieke Fordeyn for winning the award for Engineer of the Year 2024! 🎖️ Mieke was chosen from 21 nominees 'because of her profile as a broad-minded engineer and manager in a technical-commercial function, because of her commitment to STEM in schools and her international career in the construction/dredging sector'. The jury considers Mieke a valuable ambassador for the engineering profession. We couldn't agree more! Big thank you to AIG and to Mieke for 30 years of incredible committment to our company. • #engineering #AIG #UGent #Engineeroftheyear AIG (Alumni Ingenieurs Gent) Faculty of Engineering and Architecture UGent

#JDNproject • Structural works on the eight giant elements for the new Scheldt tunnel in Antwerp are finished! As part of TM COTU, we finished the last concrete pour for the elements today. Once finished, the tunnel will be 1.8 kilometres long, with three lanes in each direction and a separate bike lane. But before we get there, we need to take on the next challenge: preparing the elements for their ingenious journey from Zeebrugge to Antwerp. • #Antwerp #concrete #Scheldetunnel #oosterweel Lantis.

#JDNproject • In February we laid the foundation stone, today you can see seven buildings rising into the sky: Antwerp’s new prison is rapidly taking shape. Several buildings have reached their final height. The reception building has already been finished with wood on the outside and glass domes on the inside. And in some places, finishing elements are being added. Once finished, the prison will accommodate 440 detainees. It will be: 🤝 An inclusive prison. Welfare and a positive mindset are central to successful rehabilitation and reintegration. 🏙️ A mini city. To keep life as close as possible to the ‘normality’ of the outside world. ♻️ Sustainable and innovative. There will be green roofs and solar panels, we will reuse rainwater and recover heat from a heat network. • #jandenul EEG GROUP Belgian Buildings Agency | Regie der Gebouwen | Régie des Bâtiments FOD Justitie SPF Justice #morethanbuilding #construction

#JDNproject • Capital dredging for the expansion of Mersin Port (Turkey) has been successfully completed!👊🏽 The expansion of Mersin Port is another chapter in our contribution to developing the Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. This maritime trade route is considered a reliable alternative to the northern route through Russia, or the southern route via the Suez Canal. Our trailing suction hopper dredger Pedro Álvares Cabral did a big part of the job! • #Dredging #capitaldredging #MersinPort #Turkey #MiddleCorridor #TITR Mersin International Port (MIP)

#JDNfleet • Hop on board of our Sanderus ensuring access to our Belgian ports in a sustainable way. 🚢 The ports of Antwerp, Ghent, Ostend, and Zeebrugge are important gateways for the European economy. However, natural sedimentation can block the busy navigation channels leading to these ports. That's where our hopper dredger Sanderus comes into the picture! With continuous maintenance dredging, she keeps the docks and shipping lanes clear, ensuring smooth access. Built with cutting-edge low-emission technology ☁️ULEv☁️, Sanderus plays a crucial role in making these operations more sustainable. Thanks to her efforts, large ocean-going vessels can safely reach the ports, keeping the wheels of our economy turning efficiently and responsibly. • #jandenul #dredging #vessels #sanderus #Antwerp #Ostend #Ghent
