Last weekend we installed this arched bridge over the Albert Canal in Antwerp, Belgium. The bridge has been under construction since June last year and was slowly brought into position this weekend. It will keep traffic out of residential areas while the works on the Oosterweel link continue. Together with TM ROCO and Lantis. #worldbuilders #smoothmobility #oosterweel

Proud to launch DuneFront together with our partners! DuneFront is a new European research project that leads the way for using nature-based coastal protection across Europe and beyond. The use of only traditional coastal protection systems — such as concrete seawalls and dikes — is increasingly proving inadequate against the growing threat posed by climate change. Rising sea levels, more intense storms, and accelerated coastal erosion demand new, adaptive solutions. One such innovation is the dune-dike solution, in which we have extensive experience. This is a hybrid system that pairs the natural buffering capacity of sand dunes with the strength of engineered dikes. We received green light for our project Belreefs, focusing on large-scale, active restoration of oyster reefs in the Belgian Part of the North Sea. Oyster reefs provide shelter and food for many other marine species and form important ecosystems. They were once abundant in the North Sea but have almost disappeared today. Belreefs aims at kick-starting self-sustaining oyster reefs, where human intervention will no longer be required. The first oysters will be installed by the end of this summer. Commissioned by FOD Volksgezondheid, Veiligheid van de Voedselketen en Leefmilieu and in collaboration with Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences , Shells & Valves and Mantis Consulting. #worldbuilders #boostbiodiversity #naturerestoration

Meet Lauranne. As an Operational Engineer, she took the lead on our dredging project in Iceland. "This is one I won’t soon forget. The view from the vessel, with the Northern Lights dancing above and snow-covered mountains in the background, was breathtaking. Professionally, this project was just as rewarding. Alongside my key responsibilities of following up the dredging progress and reporting, I also managed client communication and participated in financial discussions. My role requires a wide range of skills—technical expertise, leadership, organisation, and communication—and this project allowed me to strengthen them all." #worldbuilders #dredgingsolutions #iceland

We have signed a letter of award for dredging and land reclamation works in Vadhavan Port, India. This project will create 200 hectares of new land for the construction of cargo and liquid handling facilities, supporting India's ambitious plans to develop Vadhavan into a world-class container port. We signed this letter of award together with DEME Group during the Belgian economic mission to India, highlighting the growing partnership between our countries. We will start the works in the third quarter of 2025. We are happy to be part of this project. Alongside other initiatives such as the deep-water ports in Georgia and Senegal on the horizon, we are making our mark on the modernisation of ports worldwide. #worldbuilders #futureproofports #globaltrade #India

We have installed a carbon measuring station for WETCOAST, a research project studying carbon capture and storage by coastal wetlands. We installed the station in the newly created nature reserve – the Hedwige-Prosperpolder. In the early 2020s, we helped turn this 465-hectare area into a thriving estuary, protecting the surrounding areas from flooding. Now, we are diving deeper into the carbon storage of these new mudflats and salt marshes. But that’s not all. We are also studying carbon capture in mangroves, the tropical cousins of salt marshes, through the AquaForest project in Ecuador’s Guayas delta. Together with Universiteit Antwerpen, KU Leuven Vrije Universiteit Brussel and De Blauwe Cluster (Blue Cluster) vzw. #worldbuilders #resilientshores #carbonstorage #climatechange #belgium #ecuador

New job for the crew of our installation vessel Les Alizés. Around the end of 2025, they will head to the east coast of Scotland to install monopile foundations for the wind farm Inch Cape. Once completed, Inch Cape should generate enough green energy to power half of all the homes in Scotland. Together with RWE and Inch Cape Offshore Limited. #worldbuilders #greenenergy #windenergy #energytransition #inchcape

Since the beginning of this year, we have been deepening the access channel to Höfn, Iceland — a crucial gateway for the local fishing industry. With winter storms causing heavy silting, keeping the channel open is essential for the transport of fish products. Between January and February, our Tristão da Cunha and its crew braved harsh weather conditions in the channel. In the coming days, they finish their work, keeping the port accessible and ensuring safe passage for the local fishing fleet. #worldbuilders #dredgingsolutions #safewaterways #höfn #iceland

Big news: we will contribute to a new deep-water port in Senegal. Accessible ports that are resilient to the effects of climate change are key to our global economy. With also a new container quay for the port of Valencia, and a new deep-water port in Georgia in the pipeline, we are leaving our mark on the modernization of ports worldwide.
