The #ALFIRisk24 conference continued after the lunch break with workshops running in parallel. One focused on managing the risk of fixed income funds, while the other centred on #DORA. Dominique Marchal, Jean-Philippe Blua, Roberto Cesca, CFA, Francois Ralet, and Daniel Rempfler engaged in discussions about the adjustments needed in their day-to-day operations to navigate the evolving market regime. Edwige Thomas-Ngo Tedga, Olga Frenkel, CPA, Grainne Goodman, Christian Görtz, FRM, and Tilo Reichert, CAIA, CFA, FRM explored the essential DORA requirements and delineated the different operational models implemented by various risk managers. Following the workshops, Yves Wagner, Jean-François Carpantier, HELIOS PADILLA MAYER, and Shane Worner discussed recent #macroeconomic and geopolitical events, which have served as a wake-up call for fund and risk managers. After the coffee break, Enrique Bouillot Montero, Ralph Brödel, Guenter Lauer, Jean-Baptiste Leray, and Thibault Vlietinck discussed what has changed and what is still work-in-progress since the ESMA Common Supervisory Action on Valuation was launched. We were then delighted to welcome another keynote speaker, Alik Sokolov, Co-Founder and CEO of Sibli. Alik shared invaluable insights into navigating the decision-making process between building and buying, weighing the benefits of using pre-trained Generative #AI models versus investing in training them. Today's last sessions featured an interview with Alain Hoscheid, Premier Conseiller de Direction at the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). The interview, led by Gildas Blanchard, ALFI's Head of Industry Affairs, focused on the new Luxembourg #riskmanagement standard. We express our gratitude to everyone who made this event successful.
