🌱✨ Fibenol will develop a biorefinery plant in Valmiera Industrial Park, Latvia, with a total investment volume of 600 to 700 million euros! 🏗️ On August 27, Fibenol and the Valmiera Municipality Government signed a building rights agreement, giving the green light to start preparations for the large-scale construction project. The company will soon commence feasibility and environmental impact studies on a 26-hectare land to assess its suitability for the biorefinery. If successful, production could begin as early as 2030. 👏 Valmiera was chosen as the ideal location for Fibenol's first commercial-scale biorefinery plant due to its excellent infrastructure, strategic location, and strong potential for industrial synergy. This project aligns with Latvia's growing commitment to the bioeconomy and supports sustainable development in the region. ✅ The planned biorefinery plant, which will leverage Fibenol's patented Sunburst pretreatment technology, has received strong backing from the government of Latvia, including the status of a state-priority investment project and access to the accelerated services of the "Green Corridor" initiative. ✈️⚙️ Last week, the Minister of Economics, Viktors Valainis, the Minister of Welfare, Uldis Augulis, and the Senior Investment Project Manager at the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), Deniss Čamovs, made an official visit to Airline Support Baltic, a leading provider of technical maintenance and modification services in business aviation. 🙌 The meeting offered a comprehensive overview of the company's aircraft and engine repair expertise and future development initiatives. These initiatives include establishing a facility for manufacturing aircraft cabins and fuel tanks, further strengthening Riga's position as a leading aviation hub in Northern Europe, and attracting new business partnerships. 🌍 This development project is anticipated to attract top experts worldwide and create more than 200 new jobs. A technologically advanced structure will be established to convert passenger aircraft into business aviation aircraft. 🛠️ With over 25 years of expertise in the aviation industry, Airline Support Baltic has established itself as a rapidly growing and reliable service provider. The company is the only European repairer of Embraer Legacy, Hawker, and Bombardier landing gear and one of two European companies to overhaul CF34 engines. 🙌 Today, on August 16, Director General of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) Raivis Bremsmits participated in the Forum of Latvian Professionals Working in International Organisations, organized by the Ārlietu ministrija | Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, where he joined field experts to discuss the challenges to Latvia's economic growth and explore potential solutions. 🌐 The event brought together over 80 Latvian professionals from international organizations like the Council of Europe, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the European External Action Service, the European Commission, the United Nations, the ORGANIZATION FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT, and more. 💡🔍 During the discussion, R. ✍️ Latvia and the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) have signed a Host Country Agreement to formalize the status of NIB's regional hub in Latvia. 📈 The Host Country Agreement will enhance NIB's presence in the Baltics and increase investments in underserved market segments. This agreement also highlights Latvia's commitment to hosting international financial institutions. 🌍 While the Bank's headquarters will remain in Helsinki, the new agreement will enable NIB to recruit and station workforce in Latvia, providing a straightforward platform for companies to explore investment opportunities with NIB. This cooperation aims to accelerate investments in energy, infrastructure, innovation, security, and resilience and opens new career pathways for both local and international talent. 💼💡 Latvia joined NIB in 2005, along with the other Baltic countries. 🚄🤝 The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) recently engaged in discussions with RB Rail AS | Rail Baltica, focusing on expanding cooperation to attract international investors and explore alternative financing, including private investment. 💼 Supported by the LIAA, initial meetings with significant international participants, including a major French bank and Japanese infrastructure developers who have shown interest in the project, have already occurred. 🙌 The Rail Baltica project involves more than 300 international and Baltic partners, and contracts with suppliers worth more than €4.7 billion have been concluded. Approximately 15% of Latvia's total exports to the US are directed to California, while around 20% of imports from the US come from this state. 💼 Today, on July 25, a Latvia-California Business Forum was held in Riga, which focused on enhancing economic cooperation, particularly in sustainable energy and innovation. The forum featured high-level participants, including California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Senator Josh Newman, former Senator Bob Hertzberg, Latvia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braze, Minister of Economics, Viktors Valainis, Director General of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, Raivis Bremsmits, and Latvian and California State business delegation. 🌟 This forum was a significant opportunity to further enhance cooperation between the two regions. California's vibrant startup ecosystem, renowned for its innovation, aligns perfectly with Latvia's growing tech scene, which has attracted interest from Silicon Valley, a global center for high technology and innovation.
