The cycles of day and night on the Moon are very different from those on Earth due to the Moon’s unique rotation and orbit characteristics. 🌖 ⏱ Length | A day on Earth lasts 24 hours. This is the period during which one part of the planet is exposed to the Sun, followed by a period of darkness. On the Moon, a lunar day lasts about 29.5 Earth days. This is the time it takes for the Moon to complete a full rotation on its axis relative to the Sun. The same side of the Moon always faces the Earth (a phenomenon called synchronous rotation), which means that the Moon rotates on itself at the same speed it orbits around the Earth. A lunar night lasts about 14 Earth days. 🌡 Temperatures | Due to Earth’s atmosphere, temperatures are regulated during the day and night, unlike the Moon, where temperatures in the South Pole can reach +130°C in sunlit areas and drop to -240°C in craters located in shadowed regions. ☀ Light and darkness | On Earth, sunlight is diffuse, and there is a smooth transition between day and night, creating effects such as twilight and dawn, as it is regulated by the atmosphere that filters the light. On the Moon, particularly near the poles, some regions are never illuminated. Light is bright and direct during the day, while complete darkness occurs at night. #Venturi #space #FutureTech
