  • We’re enhancing regional preparedness with LRT Jabodebek, Indonesia! Our dedicated Learning & Development (L&D) team at Prasarana recently conducted an intensive five-days programme focused on strengthening the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) capabilities of Indonesia’s LRT Jabodebek (JBDB). This initiative marks a significant step in preparing JBDB personnel for their inaugural ERP exercise.   The comprehensive training covered seven critical modules and focused on three core objectives: 1. Insight Acquisition: Offering a thorough understanding of current ERP procedures at LRT Jabodebek. 2. ERP Fundamentals: Equipping key personnel with a complete grasp of ERP principles. 3. Skill Enhancement: Building participants’ abilities to communicate and teach ERP knowledge effectively.   In this simulation exercise, LRT Jabodebek tested emergency scenarios, including a derailment incident that simulated passengers sustaining injuries, with a focus on managing severe cases such as fractures and specific scenarios involving pregnant women experiencing complications, such as miscarriages. Various agencies participated in the exercise, including the Ministry of Transportation, Directorate General of Railways (DJKA), Jakarta Provincial Government, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Fire Department, Jakarta Health Department, National Search and Rescue Agency, and the Police.   The LRT Jabodebek team was also evaluated on the speed of reporting, external coordination, and the administration of first aid, including simulated care for seriously injured passengers and pregnant women. The exercise demonstrated all operational personnel performing their roles in accordance with established SOPs.   Special thanks goes to our Learning & Development (L&D) teams from Corporate and Rapid Rail for their essential roles in managing this workshop. This initiative highlights Prasarana’s dedication to promoting regional safety standards and sharing expertise across borders. Congratulations to everyone involved for making this programme a success and contributing to a safer public transport network in Southeast Asia!   #EmergencyResponse #PublicTransport #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

  • October at Prasarana was painted pink in honor of #PinkOctober2024, a month dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness and reinforcing the importance of early detection among our employees. This year’s campaign featured an array of educational and engaging activities, fostering a collective spirit of awareness, empathy, and solidarity. The centerpiece of the campaign was the Breast Cancer Awareness Talk, led by Dr. Azura Ahmad, Chairman of Careclinics Healthcare Services Sdn Bhd (CCHS) and the Head of Clinical Governance of CCHS. This hybrid session—attended by 60-70 employees in-person and online—offered valuable insights into breast cancer prevention. Dr. Azura’s comprehensive demo on routine self-checks equipped attendees with essential skills to prioritize their health. Complementing the talk, a series of educational posters from Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) were distributed to employees throughout the month. These visual aids served as powerful reminders that breast cancer can affect anyone, regardless of gender, highlighting the critical need for awareness and vigilance. Adding vibrancy to the month, the Pink Bazaar featured 10 enthusiastic vendors who embraced the theme wholeheartedly, adorning their stalls in shades of pink. Employees enjoyed the opportunity to browse, shop, and connect over shared support for the cause, infusing the workplace with joy and unity. The pinnacle of Pink October was the Pink@Work contest, a fun and inclusive activity where employees showcased their best pink-themed attire. The competition sparked creativity across the organisation, with many submitting individual and team photos. Congratulations to Ms. Iliani bt Ariffin from the Group Digital Division for winning with her heartfelt and captivating entry. Her photo, along with two colleagues, resonated with care and love and earned them a special treat of pink sugar cream cookies adorned with the symbolic pink ribbon and Pink October 2024 label. Through these activities, Prasarana reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of health awareness and support. Pink October 2024 was not just a campaign but a reminder that early detection saves lives, and community support can make a difference. We are proud of our employees for their active participation and enthusiasm in making this month a success. Here’s to continuing the conversation, nurturing a caring workplace, and supporting those affected by breast cancer. Together, we can make a change. #PinkOctober2024 #BreastCancerAwareness #PrasaranaCares #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

  • We are transforming the way we learn with the launch of the Prasarana Learning Management System (PALMS) and a month-long self-learning and upskilling campaign to empower all employees. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering a culture of continuous, innovative learning—enabling employees to take control of their personal and professional growth. At the launch event, En. Zaki Bin Mohamad, Executive Vice President of Learning & Development, opened by thanking everyone for supporting this digital initiative, emphasising that collaboration is key to learning and development. PALMS represents our blended learning approach—accessible anytime, anywhere—to meet the evolving needs of our workforce. Abu-Bakar Idzqandar, Group Chief HSSE & Sustainable Development Officer, announced that as a member of the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei, Prasarana employees now have free access to modules from the UN Global Compact Academy. With courses on sustainability and emission reduction, he encouraged employees to set learning goals aligned with sustainability and eco-friendly practices. Harigaran Bharatham, Ph.D., Group Chief Human Capital Officer, reinforced Prasarana’s commitment to revolutionising learning. “Traditional methods are no longer enough—digitalisation is the key to unlocking our potential.” He emphasised how PALMS offers employees ownership of their learning journeys, with content tailored to career paths, while our newly launched VR and AR HVAC training makes learning as real as possible through immersive simulations free from real-world risks. The event also featured: - A hands-on demo of our newly launched VR and AR HVAC training for our LRT - An interactive presentation from our Sustainability team on our sustainability goals and we are achieving them - A speaker from LinkedIn sharing valuable insights on industry trends and skill shifts. With technology transforming 1 billion jobs in the next decade, it’s clear that upskilling and continuous learning are crucial. 50% of the workforce will need significant upskilling by 2030, with generative AI accelerating this to 68%. The future of work is changing, and at Prasarana, we are ready to lead the way by giving our employees the tools to grow, adapt, and thrive in an ever-evolving landscape. Let’s embrace this journey together and shape the future, one skill at a time. #Prasarana #ContinuousLearning #VRTraining #Upskilling #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

En Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad’s President & Group Chief Executive Officer, was in New York City recently to attend the Private Sector Forum at the UN Headquarters, at the invitation of the Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Hosted annually by the UN Secretary-General, H.E. António Guterres, during High-Level UN General Assembly week, the Private Sector Forum brings world leaders together for an interactive discussion and high-level networking opportunity focused on advancing broader UN sustainability goals. En Mohd Azharuddin was the first Malaysian to be invited to this esteemed event organised by the UNGC. This exclusive invitation-only Private Sector Forum, held as the luncheon of the UN Summit of the Future, explored pressing issues and policy barriers impacting sustainability today and future opportunities, including SDG acceleration, sustainable finance, and digital transformation. At the same venue, En Mohd Azharuddin also held a private meeting with Ms. Sanda Ojiambo, the Assistant Secretary-General, CEO and Executive Director of the UNGC, to explore further collaboration opportunities between UNGC and Prasarana. The UNGC is the world’s largest corporate responsibility and corporate social responsibility initiative. It promotes a principle-based framework for businesses, stating ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. The declared objectives of the participants and stakeholders are to mainstream the ten principles in business activities worldwide and to catalyse actions in support of broader UN goals, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Prasarana is committed to effectively playing its role as a public transport provider by embracing innovative strategies and sustainable practices. In December 2023, we unveiled the Prasarana Sustainability Blueprint 2023-2030. This comprehensive roadmap outlines Prasarana’s commitment to four key goals: transforming towards low-carbon mobility, upholding safety and security standards, driving productivity and enriching the community and committing to good business conduct and ethical principles. Some of the work that we are doing in the sustainability space includes moving towards an all-EV bus fleet, conducting comprehensive energy audits to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption by 20% by 2030, and installing at 45 sites by 2025 to generate clean energy, upholding safety, good business conduct, and ethical principles. #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

Celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that make us who we are, this year, we invited all employees to join us in creating a beautiful kolam at the Main Lobby of Menara Prasarana, a vibrant symbol of joy, hope, and prosperity.   The kolam making was more than just a festive activity, it was a celebration of unity. Employees from all walks of life came together, contributing their creativity and energy. This reflects our commitment to promoting diversity, fostering meaningful connections, and engaging with one another beyond roles and departments.   Together, we’ve created not only a beautiful kolam but also a reminder that inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. Let’s continue embracing these moments that bring us closer as one Prasarana family.   Wishing everyone celebrating a joyful and prosperous Deepavali! May the festival of lights shine bright on all of us.   #Deepavali #DiversityAndInclusion #FestivalOfLights #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

At Prasarana, our Brown Bag sessions are a platform for insightful conversations, where industry experts share knowledge and innovative ideas to push the boundaries of public transportation in Malaysia. This time, instead of featuring just one speaker, we invited panellists from various industries to offer diverse perspectives on ‘Managing a Multigenerational Workforce’.   Our panellists were: Ee Laine Teh, Head of Culture Transformation, DRB-HICOM Berhad Fathiyah, Upstream Change & Transformation, PETRONAS Bhuvanes Krishnasamy, Head of Group People & Culture, IOI Properties Group Berhad Rai Yatim, Head of Culture & Organisational Development, Pos Malaysia Berhad   Moderated by: Nurzawani Mukhtarah A., Head of Culture, DEI, and Sustainability, Prasarana   The discussion explored how a “sandwiched workforce” of four generations—Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z—presents both challenges and opportunities. Communication emerged as a key theme, with panellists agreeing that adopting different techniques for each generation is essential. They emphasised that experiences shape behaviours, and understanding these differences fosters better collaboration.   One panellist noted that while older definitions of work ethic focused on long hours and minimal sick leave, today’s workforce values well-being and flexibility. Another highlighted how managing across generations requires recognising that leaders themselves are also a work in progress. Everyone agreed that policies must accommodate diverse needs, though striking the right balance remains complex.   The panellists emphasised that every generation brings unique strengths—Gen Z and Millennials show high learning agility, while older generations contribute deep experience. Rather than focusing on generational stereotypes, they stressed the importance of seeing individuals for who they are. In addition, shared interests like movies, music, and even K-dramas can bridge generational gaps.   An exciting takeaway came from DRB-HICOM, which introduced the idea of a “Failure Festival” to encourage employees to share and learn from setbacks. This reflects a broader theme—failure isn’t the end but a step toward growth.   Thank you to all our panellists and attendees for a meaningful session. Together, we continue to embrace diversity, connect across generations, and shape the future of work at Prasarana.   #Prasarana #BrownBag #MultigenerationalWorkforce #FutureOfWork #DiversityAndInclusion #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences

At Prasarana, we believe that knowledge sharing is more than just a transfer of information—it’s a way to inspire future leaders and give back to the community. We recently had the privilege of hosting a learning session with students from Politeknik Premier Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (PSA), focusing on Sustainability and Supply Chain Management.   The session began with Ami Soerrayah Aminza, who provided insights into Prasarana’s operations, including our Sustainability Framework, Blueprint 2030, and the evolution from Millennium Development Goals to Sustainable Development Goals. She also explained the impact of supply chains on Scope 3 emissions and the distinction between ESG and sustainability principles.   Juriza Mohd Jusoh then took the students through the complexities of Supply Chain Management at Prasarana, from procurement to warehousing, managing over 6,000 items essential to the Kelana Jaya Line’s operations.   The discussion extended into global trends, with Hasrol Rosli exploring the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)—an EU regulation coming into effect in 2026. This will challenge businesses, including Malaysian exporters, to innovate sustainable solutions to remain competitive.   The visit concluded with an exciting guided tour of the Kelana Jaya Line Warehouse and Maintenance Hall, giving students a first-hand look at the maintenance and operations of our automatic train systems.   We were delighted by the students’ enthusiasm and their interest in pursuing internships and career opportunities with us. Sessions like these are part of our commitment to nurturing talent and building a sustainable future.   Special thanks to Ami Soerrayah Aminza, A. Farisya Abd Kadir, and Fatinah Yusof for curating this enriching experience for the PSA students.   #KnowledgeSharing #Sustainability #AdvancingMobilityEnrichingExperiences
