Happy New Year Everyone, hope the new year brings joy to your life and you become the reason for other people’s joy. Not going to make it a ‘new year new me’ kind of a post, but I am eager to share the exciting and impactful events that took place in the last quarter of 2024; A quarter that may have taught me more than the past 9 months. 1: Power of ‘humble & hungry’ There are only a few magical moments in one’s career and being a part of the team that brings a business like Unilever home, is not just magical, but in a way makes you feel like you’ve been able to win the magic stones from Thanos. It really takes a village to do something like this, where everyone puts their best self on the table with a shared vision and a goal, the true #PowerOfOne Picture proof: I really prayed for it, not lying. 😎 2: Idea to Execution Recently I got a chance to attend one of the Esports matches in KL and realized a lot of people talk about ESports power but most of us have never seen it only heard about it and hence, we decided to create a ‘field trip’ for our clients, taking inspiration from the ‘field trips’ that used to happen back in school! The idea was to bring a real life experience of Esports world for our clients. We took our Publicis Groupe Malaysia clients to the #M6Worldfinals (Mobile Legends) on December 15th! As expected, the event was packed with GenZ’s, buzzing with chants supporting their teams! The experience left me in awe for the 2nd time as well as our clients, who also never imagined how big this world has become! Absolutely amazing! Thanks to my our partners @PublicisPlay and my friend Zak Holman for helping with the arrangements. And to team Maxis for being the leader in innovation, always! Leo Burnett roared loudly and proudly when it clinched Agency of the Year at The Kancils, Malaysia’s premier advertising and creative award since 1978. This after winning 5 Golds, 4 Silvers, 7 Bronzes and 4 Merits across Heineken, Maxis, McDonald’s, Watsons and Publicis Groupe (self-promo). The cherries on the cake: we also walked away with the Golden Kancil best of show prize (15 years after our last Golden Kancil) for Heineken’s Heidden in Plain Sight, while helping our clients Heineken clinch Advertiser of the Year.
