Saving Lives Together: Celebrating Selflessness at the 2024 World Blood Donor Day To commemorate World Blood Donor Day 2024, themed "Honouring Our Heroes of Life," we partnered with the National Blood Service Commission (NBSC) and the Lagos State Transfusion Service (LSBTS) to host a blood drive in both Lagos and Abuja. The event saw over 50 attendees, with more than half being repeat donors. This initiative aligns with our mission to save lives and improve livelihoods. We extend our deepest thanks to all the donors for their selflessness and hope to inspire more people to become regular donors. Looking ahead, we are committed to enhancing awareness of the importance of blood donation. Through educational campaigns and collaborations with the NBSC, LSBTS, and other organizations, we aim to ensure a consistent blood supply whenever it is needed. #savinglives #WorldBoodDonorDay2024

Project Aisha Bridges Gap Between Orthodox Maternal Healthcare and Traditional Birthing Practices in Lagos State In a bid to foster collaboration and strengthen referral linkages for better maternal and newborn health outcomes in Nigeria, the Project Aisha team has launched an initiative to create synergy between Medical Directors of private hospitals and Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) across Lagos State. During the meeting, the team explored the current relationships between TBAs, nurse-led facilities, and doctor-led facilities. They also discussed ways to co-develop solutions to improve referral linkages between community providers and Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric Care (CEOC) centers within the LGA. This meeting marks the beginning of a new partnership between formal and informal healthcare sectors, tackling bottlenecks in the referral system and ensuring swift emergency obstetric care across Lagos State.
