On April 3, the Director of the NATO Command and Control Centre of Excellence, Mietta Groeneveld, will take the stage at the ESET Nederland - Cyber Defense Summit 2025: From Cyberspace to Cyber Battlefield. The event will be held in Hilversum, the Netherlands. This event (in Dutch) brings together policymakers, #cybersecurity leaders, and prominent industry experts. In an era where the digital domain is evolving from cyberspace into a #cyber battlefield, this event will explore the challenges and opportunities of cyber defense within the current geopolitical context. The focus will be on #NATO’s new doctrine, which recognizes cyberspace as a continuous battleground, and the impact of hybrid warfare on national and international security. Major General (Ret.) Jean Bouillaud (FRA A) Visits the NATO C2COE On Thursday, March 5, 2025, the NATO Command and Control Centre of Excellence welcomed Major General (Ret.) Jean Bouillaud, former ACOS J3 at NATO Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) and Chief of Staff of HQ Rapid Reaction Corps. During his visit, the General received a briefing on the centre’s mission, vision, and ongoing activities. The informal meeting included discussions on Command and Control, its role in Multi-Domain Operations (#MDO), the NATO Warfighting Capstone Concept (#NWCC), and the rapid advancements in technology driving NATO’s digital transformation. Additionally, the stance of both NATO and, in particular, France on the current challenges facing #NATO was discussed. As General Bouillaud mentioned: “French Command and Control has different constructs, but in the end, it all depends on the situation, and it is up to us to decide which framework fits best.”

Strengthening IKM: Zen (Defensity College) shares his Insights During a Monday morning huddle, KPLAO Zen, a Defensity College student and NATO Command and Control Centre of Excellence staff member, shared his insights after conducting research on Information Knowledge Management (#IKM) at the Centre. His presentation focused on the current state of the Centre’s IKM and potential improvements. These knowledge-sharing sessions play a crucial role at our Centre of Excellence by stimulating discussions and generating new perspectives and ideas. By collaborating with students from universities across the alliance, we not only pass on our knowledge to the next generation but also gain fresh viewpoints and insights from the academic world.
