#NavalArchitecture | The construction of Project Samba // Episode 2 The journey of Project Samba continues! We're proud to be part of this great project alongside Van der Valk Shipyard, Guido de Groot Design and GINTON NAVAL ARCHITECTS B.V. The second episode showcases the build and engineering progress of Project Samba. With a fast displacement hull inspired on the successful Lady Lene, Samba is set to reach a top speed of approximately 17 knots, powered by twin MAN 1450 hp diesels. Our team took on the challenge of designing a lightweight structure that maintained the robust, explorer look and feel. Including the integrated features such as full-height windows on the main deck and a large transformer in the swim platform. // Inspired by success ◻️ The starting point for Project Samba was the hull design of the multi-award-winning Lady Lene. Leveraging on her proven engineering and naval architecture, Project Samba’s owners opted for a fast displacement hull with twin MAN 1450 hp diesels offering an expected top speed of around 17 knots. Lady Lene’s expansive aft deck area served as further inspiration while the rest of the yacht features pure bespoke thinking. Highlights include a beach club with chill-out area & sauna, a bridge deck saloon that opens up on three sides for maximum connection with the outside environment, and smart balconies next to the wheelhouse.
