Great to work with new solutions to make UAV BVLOS flights (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) even more safe by mitigating air- and ground risks as much as possible. Using sim cards from KPN IoT (part of KPN) especially set-up for UAV operations, our drones have great bandwidth, better coverage and higher priority on the mobile network. With FlightOps.io integrated with Airwayz, DDC is able to plan and execute the best automated routes based on e.g. network coverage and airspace usage. Demonstrating BVLOS UAV flights DDC - Smart Inspections gains valuable information and experience in operating automated flights. It was a great first day of Wereldhavendagen Rotterdam (World Port Days) in Rotterdam. With the support of LVNL and under the supervision of Ministerie van Defensie, DDC - Smart Inspections, together with DronePort Rotterdam, demonstrated drone services to a broad audience and took some great shots of some of the many demonstrations given by organisations active in the Port of Rotterdam. Op 25 juni waren Daan van Baar, Ruud van Raak en Klaas Snijder van Kansen voor West in Den Haag bij Mainblades voor het eindgesprek van het project Powerblades met Tsjerk Kooistra en Dejan Borota. Mainblades heeft zijn innovatieve technologie, oorspronkelijk ontwikkeld voor vliegtuiginspecties, met succes aangepast voor de inspectie van elektriciteitsmasten door gebruik te maken van volledig geautomatiseerde drones. Deze aanpassing stelt de drones in staat om gedetailleerde visuele en structurele inspecties uit te voeren op moeilijk bereikbare of gevaarlijke locaties, zonder de noodzaak van menselijk ingrijpen. Door geavanceerde beeldverwerkingstechnologie en machine learning-algoritmen kunnen de drones defecten, slijtage en potentiële veiligheidsrisico's nauwkeurig identificeren en classificeren. Dit resulteert in aanzienlijke verbeteringen op het gebied van efficiëntie, veiligheid en kostenbesparingen in vergelijking met traditionele inspectiemethoden. De drones zijn uitgerust met diverse sensoren en camera's om een breed scala aan gegevens te verzamelen, die vervolgens worden geanalyseerd om onderhoudsteams te voorzien van gedetailleerde rapportages. Mainblades' aanpak bevordert preventief onderhoud, waardoor ongeplande uitvaltijden en dure reparaties verminderd worden. Bovendien draagt de technologie bij aan de duurzaamheid van de infrastructuur door de levensduur van de elektriciteitsmasten te verlengen. Dit project markeert een significante vooruitgang in de manier waarop elektriciteitsnetwerken worden onderhouden en beheerd, en zet Mainblades op de voorgrond van de inzet van drone-technologie in nieuwe industriële toepassingen.

There has been excellent coverage at Omroep West (Dutch) on how local authorities of Gemeente Den Haag (City of The Hague) work with professional drone operator DDC - Smart Inspections to perform building inspections. During this pilot, a drone sends live video streams to an online team, facilitating fast and efficient ways to inspect things like overdue maintenance and illegal extensions or roof terrace builds. One of the key advantages of this system is the independence it provides to the inspectors. They are not bound by lengthy planning schedules or the availability of tenants or homeowners. This independence, coupled with the detailed pictures of structural defaults made at the inspectors' request, ensures a swift and efficient inspection process. It's a great example of people with different expertise from commercial and governmental backgrounds successfully cooperating, pushing innovation, complying with limitations like flying in CTR and respecting people's privacy. 👉 Onlangs vond de kick-off plaats van het Acceleratieprogramma Toekomstbestendig Bouwen Levensfase 2: Get ready to scale. Dit programma is bedoeld voor startups die zich bezigbehouden met biobased en/of circulair bouwen, of datagedreven beheer en onderhoud van infrastructuur. Zes gepassioneerde startups VanHier, Sustainer, DDC - Smart Inspections, Solar Sedum B.V., Innobrix, Beecot BV) kwamen samen in The Natural Pavillion Almere, samen met TKI Bouw en Techniek, NV NOM, ROM Utrecht Region, ROM InWest en Horizon Flevoland. De dag bood een gevarieerd programma, met presentaties van alle startups, een introductie van het groeiprogramma met een specifieke focus op wat de belangrijkste groeibarrières zijn en het vaststellen van startup specifieke doelen. De komende sessies in het programma zijn ontworpen om vooruitgang naar deze gestelde doelen te faciliteren. 🎓 Expert sessies De ondernemers krijgen advies op maat en praktische ondersteuning van ons team van industrie-experts en serie-ondernemers op basis van de uitdagingen die voortvloeien uit het business development plan. Een onderdeel van het Acceleratieprogramma is de ondersteuning van coaches van de regionale ontwikkelingsmaatschappijen. Elke startup wordt gekoppeld aan een toegewijde coach, om de ondernemers binnen het traject de juiste koers te laten varen. De aftrap van het Acceleratieprogramma Toekomstbestendig Bouwen Levensfase 2, markeert een belangrijke stap in de transitie naar een circulaire en innovatieve toekomst voor de bouwindustrie. During a sunny test day and somewhat rainy U-Space Demo Day organised by DronePort Rotterdam and Port of Rotterdam, DDC - Smart Inspections shot some video's to share more use cases of Heavier Load Carrying drones. A sight we can definitely get used to! U-space management solution Airwayz implemented by Port of Rotterdam, integrating traditional airspace users, vessel movements, authorised and unauthorised UAV flights in one digital airspace management solution is a real game changer for the industry.
