This tool should assist stakeholders (e.g., businesses) in making informed decisions about their electricity procurement strategy. Context: Between 2021 and 2022, the wholesale price of electricity in Europe increased by an average of 181%. At the same time, wind and solar power accounted for 22% of EU electricity generation in 2022, surpassing gas for the first time. Energy portfolios are becoming increasingly complex. Due to this rising risk exposure and portfolio complexity, we invite InnoEnergy students to carry out a tactical analysis to quantify the financial and emissions impact of these portfolio changes over the next 10 years. This will help assess the effectiveness of various risk mitigation strategies.
