🚀 TSO Innovation Club #2 🚀 in Hamburg, Germany In recent days, the 2nd TSO Innovation Club took place in Hamburg, bringing together participants from across Europe to drive innovation and advance the energy sector. The event kicked off with inspiring startup pitches, where innovative companies showcased their groundbreaking products and services crucial for the hydrogen ramp-up. These startups proved to be dynamic puzzle pieces essential for the seamless transformation of the energy market, adeptly filling gaps with their flexibility and creativity. The second day featured three insightful breakout sessions: 1️⃣ Enhancing Methane Detection: Strategies for making our pipelines and compressor stations more sustainable. 2️⃣Digitalizing the Hydrogen Economy: Optimizing the ramp-up through a comprehensive platform. 3️⃣Improving Collaboration: Strengthening partnerships with startups for enhanced synergy. 🔔 The verdict is out! 85 projects have been invited to grant preparation under the #InnovationFund23 call. 💡 H2IF team has carried out a preliminary analysis of the projects related to #EnergyStorage and #Hydrogen. 17 ES and H2 projects have been awarded including -         3 under the sector of “intra-day electricity storage” -         7 under the sector of “manufacturing components of ES” -         1 under the sector of “other ES” -         6 from the Hydrogen sector.  Of these 17, 3 applied to the #LargeScaleCall (all hydrogen), 2 to the #MediumScaleCall (1 hydrogen, 1 intra-day storage), 1 to the #SmallScaleCall (intra-day storage), 7 to the #Manufacturing Call (all ES manufacturing components) and 4 to the #Pilots Call (2 hydrogen, 1 intra-day storage, 1 other) 💡 H2IF welcomes the diverse set of storage #technologies funded by the EC! 👏 Winning hydrogen projects covered different aspects of the H2 value chain such as PEM electrolysers, RFNBO hydrogen production from waste-streams ammonia production or even hydrogen powered shipping solutions. As for ES technologies, Li-ion projects focused on cell manufacturing (including #CAM, #pCAM and #anode) share the stage with #BatteryRecycling and innovative underground solutions for #ThermalEnergyStorage and #PumpedHydroStorage. 🚀 Exciting times ahead! Elestor B.V. has been selected to present at the 3rd edition of the European Hydrogen Transport Dialogue 2024 on December 4-5 in Nuremberg, Germany. This prestigious event brings together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to discuss the future of sustainable hydrogen in Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our innovative storage solutions and contribute to the future of clean and sustainable hydrogen in Europe. We will present a unique property of our hydrogen-based flow battery technology: The possibility to integrate the battery system with H2-infrastructures and electrolysers. Elestor B.V. selected - again !

Snam S.p.A., Europe’s leading operator in natural gas transport, with a network of approximately 38,000 km in Italy and abroad, has chosen Elestor B.V. as one of the winning startups of its third global corporate accelerator focused on hydrogen technologies, called #DecarbonizationNexus. More than 50 startups applied to Snam’s Decarbonization Nexus programme, which was created to identify and advance innovative technologies across the entire hydrogen value chain. For our innovative hydrogen flow-battery, designed for long-duration energy storage applications, we have been selected to continue the acceleration journey for an additional four months. Our cooperation with Snam will demonstrate our ability as a provider of hydrogen-based flow battery technology to offer robust, affordable, long-term, large-scale and scalable storage of clean energy.   During the programme, we will evaluate the potentiality and feasibility of connecting Elestor BV flow-battery directly to the H2-infrastructure. #LDES #Energystorage #Hydrogen

A real energy transition requires Long Duration Energy Storage (#LDES). Many parties are aware of this and are knock-knock-knockin’ on the LDES doors. Innovations are soon to land now ! At the same time parties would like to have operational and performance guarantees during this landing. How can these be ensured and how can risks be minimized? On Thu 17th October, Joep Lauret Project Manager at Elestor B.V. will join a discussion panel on Vakbeurs Energie with organizer Janneke Tjon Pian Gi - Stuijfzand from AQUABATTERY and Roy Aarts from insurer HDI Group. We're really excited about starting this cooperation with Snam S.p.A., highlighting the unique integration of Elestor B.V.'s electricity storage technology with hydrogen backbones and electroysers.

Batterijproducent Elestor B.V. is bezig met de productie van hun eerste commerciële batterij, die naar verwachting in 2025 geplaatst zal worden. De opdrachtgever is tankopslagbedrijf Vopak. Uiteindelijk zal de batterij voornamelijk geschikt zijn om te gebruiken bij zon- en windparken, vertelt directeur van Elestor, Guido Dalessi. Tien jaar geleden werd Elestor opgericht en sindsdien is het bedrijf bezig geweest met het ontwikkelen van een waterstof-bromide batterij. Ondertussen hebben zij ook alternatieve elektrolyten, steeds in combinatie met waterstof, ontwikkeld. Daarvan zal binnenkort de eerste unit geplaatst worden.
