Great work from our implementers! 👍
Artisanal gold producers in Côte d'Ivoire face challenges in meeting requirements of the international market which often looks to the CRAFT Code and OECD Due Diligence Guidance. Recently, 20 members from the COOPEDA mining cooperative and the SICOM trading company participated in a two-day training session on the CRAFT Code. This training aimed to increase understanding and encourage the adoption of the CRAFT Code among these stakeholders. The CRAFT Code provides #artisanal #miners with a framework to show their commitment to reducing risks related to #humanrights, social, economic, and environmental issues. By following this code, artisanal #gold producers can meet international market standards, giving them the chance to sell their gold globally. This activity is part of the Scaling Up project, funded by European Partnership for Responsible Minerals (EPRM) and implemented by IMPACT and Solidaridad Network, in partnership with SICOM and COOPEDA. It offers stakeholders in Côte d'Ivoire an opportunity to explore steps toward responsible sourcing, which is essential for access to the formal market.
