Our Mechanical Engineer Gideon Stephan travelled from South Africa to Europe in 2023. Gideon graduated with his Masters degree in mechanical engineering at Stellenbosch University - Faculty of Engineering and just passed his 1 year anniversary at Frencken. Last week the Vice-Chancellor Wim de Villiers of Stellenbosch University visited the Netherlands and Frencken praised him for the high level of South African graduates from his university and their subsequent successful deployment at Frencken. Through our partner iSprout highly educated talent from South Africa is provided with the opportunity to start their high tech career at Frencken.   Gideon: “In my engineering team we develop tooling, support integration of design changes for modules that Frencken produces, and we are involved with yield improvement projects. Frencken has been able to attract international talent thanks to good contacts with the leading Stellenbosch University in South Africa and in collaboration with iSprout. This week, the Vice-Chancellor Wim de Villiers of Stellenbosch University visited iSprout in the Netherlands. During this visit, Marcel Slot Vice President Technology & Engineering at Frencken Mechatronics, expressed his appreciation on behalf of Frencken, for the excellent education of highly talented South African engineers. Frencken now employs a growing group of these engineers. They are a perfect fit for Frencken and after a short training period in our engineering departments, they feel comfortable in their new roles and are making a highly successful contribution at a high level. Through our partner iSprout, highly skilled talent from South Africa is starting up in various sectors in the Netherlands. For the high-tech sector, Stellenbosch University - Faculty of Engineering has proven to be an important new source for identifying and developing talent. Marcel: ‘Thanks to the fruitful collaboration, we have been very successful in attracting highly skilled professionals from South Africa to support the growth and innovation within Frencken Mechatronics. Working with these internationally talented individuals is a fantastic experience for us.
