Check onze website! https://lnkd.in/da2nQytr ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Over the last years, #nature-inclusive urban development has become a topic on the agenda of city planners, designers, municipalities and financers. Despite this increased attention, nature-inclusive urban development is not a mainstream approach in urban design and construction. At this year’s Future Green City World Congress, colleagues Joyce Zwartkruis-Alferink and Noortje Pellens presented the barriers and enablers to accelerating nature-inclusive urban development. “We look back on a fruitful, interactive and inspiring session with over 70 participants from all over the world. With the participants from various sectors in the urban domain, we exchanged experiences and perspectives, shared good examples and discussed how to overcome barriers”. And how can we accelerate, according to the public? · Active involvement of society in projects · Multifunctional green: nature can serve multiple purposes · Include scale levels: from building, to parcel, to the area · Room for experiments and learning from pilot projects · Strong policy frameworks and regulations to support Do you want to know more about what we can do to build nature inclusive cities? 🚶 📍A flashback to the visit to the #Utrecht reuse center at the Future Green City World Congress ! Last September saw the holding of the Future Green Cities World Congress, during which over 3,000 experts from all over the world gathered in Utrecht over four days to share and gather knowledge on the #circulareconomy. Among the events organized as part of the conference was a tour (Urban Trail) of the Utrecht municipal reuse center, one of #PREUSE's pilot sites. The tour began with an inspiring visit to the Het Hof van Cartesius. This is a circular hub, where a municipal recycling center will be developed in the coming months. 👷 Noortje Voulon, John de Zwart and Mirjam Scholtens from the Gemeente Utrecht gave a tour of the municipal reuse center. 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙬 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙩 🚧 The municipality of Utrecht has been the official owner of a plot of land to develop a municipal #reusecenter. The reuse center is intended to become a circular center for materials released during construction work in #publicspaces and suitable for reuse. For example, #pavers and #playground equipment are temporarily stored and prepared for reuse. If necessary, materials are repaired, cleaned and palletized for later reuse in other public works. The development of the reuse center is an important step towards becoming a fully circular city by 2050! Thanks to all participants!
