It's so exciting to see Monumental's vision become reality. We've taken on the brickwork for an entire sub-development of 14 houses near Rotterdam with 4 of our robots taking on a significant amount of the brickwork. As we continue to grow, we've opened up a couple non-engineering roles for the first time in a while: we're hiring an Head of Finance, an Executive Assistant/Operations Manager, and our first Deployment Managers. Met trots realiseren wij het metselwerk voor veertien woningen in opdracht van STATON BOUW 🧱 🦾 Dit mooie project van Verstoep bouwkundigen omvat tien rug-aan-rug woningen en vier geschakelde woningen in Krimpen aan de Lek. Vier van onze metselrobots zijn hier hard aan het werk, samen met de vakmannen van JM Deurwaarder Gespecialiseerde Aannemerij BV om een prachtig nieuw thuis voor de toekomstige bewoners te realiseren.

Mooi werkbezoek bij Monumental van Jesse Six Dijkstra. Naast de gave metselrobot ook een gesprek over #AI #vestigingsklimaat met Salar al Khafaji Elise de Reus van Cradle en Wouter Kroese van Pacmed. Dank dat je er was Jesse, goed om de ervaringen van deze Nederlandse #startups met je te delen.

This role is going to be so important at Monumental. 👇 My colleague Alfred Polycarpe arrived as an intern and quickly became a critical part of the team. We soon learned how much it matters to have people who: a) are really in tune with operating the robot b) enjoy diving in at any layer of the stack*, and c) can iterate super fast on the problem that's physically in front of them, right now Sound fun? We're now hiring for more Forward Deployed Robotics Engineers. * e.g. gluing things back together; wandering around with a hard hat and a measuring tape; writing Typescript and Rust; debugging the output of the computer vision pipelines and so on.

One of the most common questions we get at Monumental is "how do I get into a robotics as a software engineer"? Inspired by our time at Palantir, we decided to open up a new role for Forward Deployed Robotics Engineers. The typical Silicon Valley startup advice to become an effective engineer is “spend more time with your users”. Our version of this is “go spend time with robots". We had such a great time last week opening the doors to our new office, with 100+ people attending. It was great to show off our beautiful new location near Artis in Amsterdam. We also ran live demo's of all the amazing robots and features we've built in the last few months. Why the new space? To support our fast growth: since the start of this year, our team has grown from 13 humans to 34(!), and from 5 robots to over 20.
