Check out this inspiring example from the KBE 2023 Challenge: ✈️ Fuselage Structural Analyzer ✈️ Developed by Aerospace MSc students Aswin Thagadi Seenu and Vibhor Rajoria in collaboration with Ton van der Laan & Bas van Manen from Fokker Technologies Holding B.V., they had an ambitious goal: Accelerating the fuselage design process by bringing down iteration time from days to minutes. 🎯 The team focused on 3 components to make an app that assist engineers best: 💪CAD and FEM automation: The app integrates CAD modeling, meshing, and FEM analysis. Therefore, users benefit from: - Effortless design exploration through parametric modeling. - An associative mesh that automatically updates in response to any CAD changes. - Automated FEM analysis of structural elements using #Abaqus. 📃 Automatic Reporting: The app generates a report with mass breakdown and stress results. 🔗 Exporting: #FEM model export to the Abaqus software for further analysis. 📅 Deadline Alert: This is the final week to submit your assignment idea for the KBE 2025 Challenge! Martin Rijneveld and Léon Tiggelman) to automate the design of support structures for overhead train power lines. The result? Trackflow—a brilliant app that automatically: ✅ Interprets track section drawings to generate 3D geometry. ✅ Integrates structural calculations for integrity assessments. ✅ Outputs a detailed drawing and calculation report. With Trackflow, engineers can reduce weeks of manual labor to minutes with just a few clicks!
