🍃 Greenhouse-of-the-Future: Combining New Technologies At this year's GreenTech conference in Amsterdam, Rob van Straten from Skytree, Jildou de Jong from Thermeleon Willem Kesteloo from FOTONIQ and Mike Poodt of Rijk Zwaan joined a panel of greenhouse tech innovators focused on the Greenhouse of the Future. Now, Skytree, Thermeleon and FOTONIQ are excited to take on a new collaboration. The partnership will explore the potential of combining three pioneering technologies to take a big step towards climate neutral horticulture. Skytree’s Direct Air Capture, capturing CO2 out of ambient air to boost crop yield, Thermeleon's passive Heat Battery reducing the heating and cooling demand, and FOTONIQ's PAR+ spray coating system diffusing sunlight without light loss, may be the crucial combination required to revolutionize horticulture. These disruptions demonstrate the fragility of the CO2 supply chain, with significant consequences for businesses that rely on CO2 regardless of their scale of operation. The NETL DAC Centre, located in Pittsburgh had commenced operations in May. 📈Circular Carbon Network releases its first mid-year report Covering carbon capture, CO2 conversion and carbon capture market infrastructure, highlights include: - The industry raised about $3.8B in the first 6 months of the year - The value of deals has increased while the number of deals have decreased Y-o-Y, indicating capital is flowing towards more advanced technologies and investors are becoming more risk averse - 🥇 4 of the top 5 early stage deals were for DAC companies. 💡CDR.fyi launches CDRai! Developed by The OpenAir Collective, this is the first large language model that focuses on carbon dioxide removals, seeking to make science based knowledge of carbon removals more accessible to both the general public and experts. 🇦🇹Austria releases its carbon management strategy, paving the way for more CCUS and CDR. The strategy recommends: - Lifting the ban on underground storage of CO2.  - Amending the legal framework to enable CO2 transportation via pipelines  - Improving international coordination to develop more unified standards and frameworks.  - Implementing CCUS/CDR researches and pilot projects - Changing the public perception of CCUS/CDR technologies via better communication    💸 44.01 completes its Series A investment round at $37M The funding round was led by Equinor Ventures with Shorooq Partners. The company, an XPrize finalist this year,  specializes in DAC+S project development and has already piloted its mineralization technology in UAE and Oman.
