💧 Water from thin air. Anywhere. 💨 Currently, 1 in 4 people worldwide lack safe access to drinking water. Solaq's mission is to offer a sustainable solution to help fight this growing crisis. To do so, we are developing Air-to-Water technology to make use of the enormous untapped potential of water in the air surrounding us. Harnessing the power of the sun, our system extracts the water in the air to deliver pure drinking water, anywhere, even in our world's driest deserts! No need for any existing infrastructure or grid connection and without producing any waste products. Starting with rural areas worldwide, our aim is to deliver drinking water to those experiencing severe water shortages. We provide affordable drinking water to communities as well as sustainable water for agriculture and industry in water-scarce regions around the globe. 🚀 Innovative technology 🌱 Our proprietary absorber and the unique possibility to make use of solar thermal energy rather than electric energy, makes our system more efficient and more affordable than any solution out there today. Compared to current solutions in the world’s most pressing situations, our technology is more sustainable, reliable, safe and affordable. 🔍 Subsidy for further development of our core technology In addition to previously obtaining the Partners for Water subsidy for our full-scale demonstration project, we are now proud to announce that we have secured the MIT (MKB Innovatiestimulering Topsectoren) subsidy by Provincie Noord-Holland, focusing specifically on the development of our innovative absorber component, which sits at the core of our Air-to-Water technology. The financial contribution will help us further research, develop and test our absorber, together with our collaboration partners. This is an exciting development and a welcome push towards the development and building of our first full-scale system in Amsterdam before shipping to Brazil in 2025. #water #airtowater #technology #research #development #subsidy #watersecurity #atmosphericwatergeneration

🇧🇷 Traction in Brazil! This April and May, our team had an incredibly productive trip to Brazil, where we visited three locations for commercial demonstration projects, solidified public and private partnerships and strategized future collaborations. Water scarcity is a growing issue around the world. Brazil’s semi-arid northeast isn’t exempt from this, as increasingly severe droughts hit the region, pushing many communities into the realm of water insecurity. 🏜️ Paraíba, Bahia and Ceará ️ The first two weeks of our journey took us through three of the semi-arid states in Northeast Brazil: Paraíba, Bahia and Ceará. These semi-arid states still have many communities of under 100 households that lack access to reliable water security, due to increasing droughts, depleting resources and non-existent infrastructure. Technical progress & innovation is crucial for these places, and that’s why we’re here – to create a new, sustainable source of water security, anywhere in the world. In each state, we met key institutes and organizations that will work with us towards the goal of achieving water security where it’s most needed. In Ceará, we assessed the demo-site of our full-scale system planned for installation next year, and met the locals. Together with the Mayor and the local municipality, we are eager to provide them with a new source of water fresh out of the air, and with it, year-round water security. 🌐 Web Summit Rio & IFAT Sao Paulo The second leg of our trip took us to the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Part of the Dutch Delegations organised by uGlobally and the NWP (Netherlands Water Partnership), our presence at Web Summit Rio and IFAT Brasil allowed us to connect with global innovators, local players, investors, and explore new opportunities for our technology. These events provided a platform to showcase our Air-to-Water technology and build valuable relationships with potential partners. 🤝 Stay tuned as we continue to make progress towards our mission of providing a new source of water security in Brazil! 🌿💧 #WaterInnovation #SustainableDevelopment #SolaqInBrazil #Water #atmosphericwatergeneration #watersecurity #waterscarcity Joyce Gielen Rodrigo Esturilio Olmedo Felipe Galoro Altamar Alencar Cardoso Hans Blankenburgh 🇳🇱🇧🇷 Monica Tejo Ronner Gondim NBSO Belo Horizonte 🇳🇱🇧🇷

It’s #WorldWaterDay 💧 and we’re proud to say that the development of our first full-scale system is in full swing. Our engineers are hard at work building the system that will undergo rigorous testing during the dry season in North-east Brazil, and be demonstrated to partners and potential customers in the semi-arid region. The system will produce as much as 5000 liters of water each day, and provide drinking water to communities in Brazil that are currently experiencing severe water insecurity. On the business development side, our Brazilian momentum is growing as we had the honor of attending the kickoff meeting for #WebSummitRio 2024 this Wednesday at the Embassy of Brazil in The Hague. Part of the Dutch Delegation, we’re preparing for an exciting opportunity to dive deeper into the world of innovative tech in Brazil and LATAM. We’d like to extend a big thank you the Embassy of Brazil in The Hague and its secretaries Gaétan Spielmann Moura and Luana Roeder, uGlobally and Iris Schut for hosting us and being such incredible sources of knowledge. Até em breve no Rio! 🇧🇷 #wwd2024 #water #AWG #drinkingwater #websummitrio2024

💦 Water from thin air. Anywhere. 💨 After a 6-month demonstration of our Air-to-Water prototype in the beautiful -and semi-arid- state of Ceará, Brazil, the results are in. The outcome? Technical validation is confirmed and we are on-route towards a full-scale demo! 🇧🇷 Brazil, a country of rainforests?💧 Despite Brazil's reputation as a land of rainforests, there are 10 states in the northeast that are continuously affected by high water stress and increasingly severe seasonal droughts. Millions of people in this semi-arid region rely on water truck (carro-pipa) deliveries for their drinking water needs, all year round. The water trucking is highly expensive, unreliable, polluting and unsafe. 🏜️ Our pilot in the semi-arid 🌵 In the past years Solaq has been in close collaboration with partners from the north-eastern state of Ceará. In 2020, we were invited to come and test our prototype in Brazil’s semi-arid habitat. The goal: to find possible solutions for the growing water scarcity in the region, and hopefully to replace the unreliable and polluting water trucks. In 2022, after the COVID lockdowns, we shipped our first integrated, small-scale (1/10th scale) prototype to Brazil and tested it for 6 months during the dry season. The test results came so close to our simulations, that it almost felt like a waste of time. Even so, we are happy to say that the prototype was able to produce as much as 200 liters of water each day in the height of the dry season! Special thanks to NHL Stenden Hogeschool, NBSO Belo Horizonte 🇳🇱🇧🇷 and, of course, Luewton Lemos F Agostinho.
