Stolt Barging Services (SBS) expands to the Mississippi River! Last week, Stolt Tankers and Stolthaven Terminals held a reception in New Orleans, US to celebrate the new SBS barge cleaning facility on the Mississippi River. SBS has worked in partnership with Stolthaven Terminals to open the facility at its New Orleans terminal (mile marker 80). Using shared resources and infrastructure, SBS is excited to now offer an additional option for barge cleaning and ancillary services in the Mississippi River. We are proud to be members of the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) and wholeheartedly support Anti-Corruption Day today. We’ve seen a decrease in attempted bribery and corruption incidents over time. We believe our reputation as an operator with high standards of integrity and a zero-tolerance approach discourages these incidents to an extent – but it remains an issue faced by our captains and crews.  Our people have exceptional training and discipline, and are fully supported by their onshore colleagues to do the right thing in these matters, even when occasionally threatened with undue delays and port detentions. We thank our teams for their commitment and strong sense of business ethics, and also thank our customers who may have to show patience when these situations arise.  Together we are working for a maritime industry free from corruption.
