These events highlighted local, seasonal, and close-to-home food options, emphasizing the importance of healthy eating for campus well-being. Our foodservice locations embraced this theme with creativity and enthusiasm. 💡What is "Week of Our Food" and National Fruit and Vegetable Day? The "Week of Our Food" celebrates Dutch food culture, focusing on locally sourced ingredients and sustainable choices. National Fruit and Vegetable Day promotes the benefits of fruits and vegetables for a healthy lifestyle. Both initiatives aim to raise awareness about better food choices. During the Week of Our Food, Brave New World delighted guests with a Dutch Cuisine-inspired stamppot and a classic stroopwafel dessert, offering a taste of Dutch culinary traditions. For National Fruit and Vegetable Day, they served a variety of salads packed with fresh produce to encourage a balanced diet. The Mart also joined in on National Fruit and Vegetable Day by preparing a special menu, showcasing the health benefits of each dish. Here are some highlights: 🔹Spelt Roll with Salmon and Avocado Why it’s good for you: Avocado is rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, potassium, magnesium, and folic acid, providing a nutritious boost. 🔹The Mart's Fruit Salad Benefits: Fruits are loaded with essential fibers, minerals, and vitamins. They can lower the risk of heart disease, reduce blood pressure, and help manage type 2 diabetes. 🔹Salmon with Chioggia Beets Nutritional benefits: Beets are a great source of iron, magnesium, potassium, and vitamin A, promoting healthy blood pressure. The Mart also emphasized sustainability during the Week of Our Food, featuring dishes like local Claresse filet with spinach and organic potatoes, sourdough sandwiches with roasted seasonal vegetables and chickpea spread, and plant-based loaded fries with beet stew. 🌿 Gisteren stonden we in het kader van de Nationale Vitaliteitsweek samen met onze partner Compass Group op High Tech Campus Eindhoven met een gratis gezonde snack, om mensen bewust te maken van gezonde voeding tijdens het werk. 💡 We hadden leuke en interessante gesprekken met campusbewoners over hoe zij denken over voeding en vitaliteit, wat zij vinden van het aanbod op de campus, wat bepalend is voor hun voedingskeuzes en of ze nog iets missen in het aanbod op High Tech Campus. 🍏 Zo bleek onder andere dat de meeste mensen een duidelijke voorkeur hebben voor verse ingrediënten en er ook veel belangstelling is voor voeding binnen bepaalde diëten. De smaak is daarbij  in de meeste gevallen doorslaggevend. 🥕 Ook was er een duidelijke behoefte aan gezondere snacks in de automaten. Mensen gaven aan dat ze meer gezonde keuzes willen, zoals fruit en andere voedzame snacks, die hen gedurende de dag energie geven. 🍴 Gezonde voeding moet niet alleen lekker en voedzaam zijn, maar ook betaalbaar en makkelijk toegankelijk. Gratis gezonde snacks op de werkplek, zoals fruit, worden als een succesvolle strategie gezien om gezonde keuzes te stimuleren. 💚 Hoewel gezondheid een prioriteit is, benadrukten meerdere bewoners dat niet alles vegetarisch of supergezond hoeft te zijn: af en toe zondigen moet kunnen. National Vitality Week: Boosting Vitality at High Tech Campus Eindhoven! This week is National Vitality Week, a national initiative aimed at promoting health and well-being across the workplace. Today, The Strip - High Tech Campus Eindhoven | Eurest , together with the Workplace Vitality Hub, participated in raising awareness about vitality at High Tech Campus Eindhoven! We handed out refreshing flavoured water, delicious bananas and apples, and healthy Brewlicious bars to fuel campus residents with nutritious snacks. But it didn’t stop there! We engaged in meaningful discussions with campus residents about what vitality means to them. We gathered valuable feedback on how to improve our food offerings at The Strip and learned what our guests feel is missing from the current selection. This insight will help us further enhance the variety and nutritional quality of our menu, making it even easier for campus residents to make healthier choices that support their overall well-being. The Workplace Vitality Hub is dedicated to creating healthier workplaces and supporting the well-being of employees, both physically and mentally. As part of this initiative, we informed residents about the Hub and shared practical tips for maintaining a healthy workday, from balanced eating to staying active throughout the day. We are excited to take the feedback we received today and use it to make concrete changes that will contribute to a healthier, more vibrant campus. At Brave New World, we're kicking things off with a variety of creative, delicious No Waste dishes. Each day, you’ll find different lunch options at our dedicated No Waste counter, featuring meals made from leftovers and quirky, "imperfect" produce that would otherwise be discarded. 🍲🥕 Our innovative chefs are masters at turning surplus ingredients into mouthwatering combinations—nothing goes to waste! Did you know that nearly one-third of all food produced globally is wasted? By using up every last bit, we’re doing our part to fight this shocking statistic. Plus, we’re using the latest technology to help us minimize waste even further. With Winnow Solutions, a smart scale that tracks food waste in real time, our chefs can improve their recipes and reduce waste even more efficiently. And as a final measure, we partner with Too Good To Go, allowing customers to purchase surplus meals at a discounted price, ensuring nothing goes to the bin. But it doesn’t stop at Brave New World! Other locations at HTC The Strip are also getting creative with leftovers, turning food scraps into rich soups, flavorful sauces, and more. Hilde de Vocht, HTCE Head of Ecosystem, talked to Rogier van Son and Ferenc Triki at Omroep Brabant about how High Tech Campus has changed in the past 25 years, the explosive growth happening right now and what the future looks like. The Campus started out as NatLab, a closed R&D center where many Philips products were developed and launched. Philips opened the campus to outside companies, funding the project with €400M. This allowed for the construction of buildings, parking garages and The Strip - High Tech Campus Eindhoven | Eurest with restaurants and shops. “To this day, it has proven to be a very successful concept,” said Hilde. 🙌 Fast forward 25 years, and the Campus has nearly 300 companies and 12,500 employees. "We create the future. Today we think about what might be in your body, in your home, in your office and in your environment in the coming years. New products are developed and made here.” That’s why HTC is called the “smartest square kilometer in Europe.” 🚀 HTC is also called the Silicon Valley of Europe. Hilde adds, "We are on par with San Francisco, but with our own course. It is much more competitive there, but we do it our own way. With the Brabant mentality and conviviality." Their commitment to high-quality, sustainable products enhances our community and aligns perfectly with our values. 3. Minimizing Waste: Our use of eco-friendly packaging, such as Billie Cup - Benelux, helps us cut down on waste and make a meaningful environmental impact. 4. Plant-Based Menu Options: Our plant-based dishes are crafted to be both delicious and environmentally friendly, contributing to a lower carbon footprint and a greener future. 5. Tackling Food Waste: To address food waste, we leverage Winnow to optimize food usage and partner with TooGoodToGo GF to offer surplus meals at reduced prices. Instead of discarding food, we repurpose it into no-waste soups and crostini from leftover bread. Fe+male Tech Heroes Partner BBQ at The Strip - High Tech Campus Eindhoven | Eurest Yesterday, Compass Group Nederland (Eurest) proudly participated in the Fe+male Tech Heroes Partner BBQ. As a proud partner of this inclusive community, we are part of a diverse ecosystem where talent in the tech world is celebrated, where inclusion and diversity are central, and where we inspire and learn from each other. Various partners gathered at The Strip - High Tech Campus Eindhoven | Eurest to celebrate. After the positive news shared by the Founders, Hilde de Vocht and Ingelou Stol (because everyone loves good news), several partners gave short pitches to inspire one another. Following these inspiring pitches, all the partners enjoyed a delightful BBQ. The Strip hosted this fantastic BBQ, which was entirely vegetarian. The creative chefs went all out, preparing delicious dishes from the grill, including Italian bruschetta, Indian curries, stuffed aubergines, avocado, a Greek feta dip, and a Belgian dessert featuring Brussels waffles with warm cherries and ice cream. Even the drinks were special, as we presented authentic bubble tea! It was a BBQ with flavors from diverse cultures. We contribute to this sustainable ecosystem through smart procurement, combating food waste with our innovative Winnow scale, and managing waste with Too Good To Go. We also incorporate products made from food by-products. The protein transition plays a crucial role in our strategy. We offer a variety of plant-based products across The Strip, with notable examples including Chokbites, as well as diverse plant-based milk options available at various locations such as Lokl. Our restaurants, such as Brave New World, also focus on the protein transition by providing always-available plant-based choices. Health is another priority. We promote healthy products through small nudges in the right direction and our Brainfood Bar, which supports mental well-being. Innovation is integral to our approach, as highlighted by our smart scale and our recent collaboration with mobyyou. For instance, you can order your coffee at Lokl while still on the bus, and it will be ready for you upon arrival at the campus. Additionally, our self-driving robot delivers tasty lunches, snacks, or refreshments around The Strip, stopping when you signal it.
