🌱Last week we had the workshop "Law for Healthy Soils", organised by Edwin Alblas, Julian Helfenstein, and Anna Edlinger, with the help of Alessandro Di Bello and María José Díaz Bernal. The workshop is part of the project "(Re-)thinking soil law across spatial and temporal scales", funded by the Wageningen Biodiversity Initiative!🌱 The small-scale workshop brought together academics from all across WUR, seeking to bridge law and soil science and focusing on the EU's recent legislative proposal for a Soil Monitoring Directive. We want to thank all the participants for their crucial insights and participation! The organisers and participants will bring their expertise together to work on a shared paper on the topic. ✨The weekend has passed but we are still thinking back to The Global Business and Human Rights Scholars Association and Business and Human Rights Teaching Forum Annual Conference!✨ We want to thank all the participants again for sharing their knowledge on the latest developments in the BHR field, such as the adoption of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive corporate accountability in times of armed conflict, and teaching strategies. We hope you enjoyed your stay in Wageningen and brought home with you valuable insights! Last but not least, this conference would not have been such a success without our amazing organising committee, led by our colleagues Dr. Nadia Bernaz and Dr. Olena Uvarova, so a big thank you to them for all their efforts. The book, edited by Nitish Monebhurrun, the Ambassador of Colombia to The Netherlands Carolina Olarte-Bácares, and Marco A. Velásquez Ruiz, PhD, explores how Latin American states have traditionally stood before the field of International Investment Law and Arbitration and critically reflects on the developments of their approach and position as players in the International Investment Law field. 🌱🧪Check out "Understanding soil phosphorus cycling for sustainable development: A review", co-authored by our colleague Edwin Alblas, to discover why the topic of soil phosphorus levels in the soil is increasingly gaining attention from law and policy experts!🧪🌱 This interdisciplinary article draws from different fields, such as law and soil science, and reviews the current improvements in tools and techniques to measure soil phosphorus (P) levels. Building on these grounds, it emphasises that these improvements need to go hand in hand with policy and technological development to successfully address P-related sustainable development goals. Congratulations to the authors Julian Helfenstein, Bruno Ringeval, Federica Tamburini, Vera L. Mulder, Daniel S. Goll, Xianjin He, Edwin Alblas, Yingping Wang, Alain Mollier, and Emmanuel Frossard!
