🚄 Surveying Germany's Extensive Rail Network 🚄   We've secured three framework contracts with Deutsche Bahn (DB)! 🎉 These contracts involve the collection, processing, and analysis of Geo-data for part of DB's network, which spans more than 33,000 km of track across Germany.   We'll be using our RILA®360 system for data collection and processing, aligning data with ground control points, and mapping key objects like OLE, bridges, and tunnels. The frameworks will last 4 years, with the option of extension.   Our RILA® system has already proven its value in Germany, having collected Geo-data for Digitale Schiene Deutschland in 2021 and 2022. We mounted our RILA® system on an in-service Nederlandse Spoorwegen passenger train as part of a regular scheduled stop at Eindhoven Centraal. As the train continued on schedule at 160km/h towards Venlo, our RILA® system was able to create a georeferenced harmonised point cloud of the existing track corridor for track renewal 🛤️   These initial surveys create the foundation for track digitalisation, combining our track surveys with relevant ground data, and delivered with our expertise. 🛤️Creating a 700% return on investment with the RILA® system 📝   We recently got back on track for Network Rail on the Wales and Western Route, updating track survey information for the complex 158 track km stretch of line between Cardiff and Pilning. This section includes the iconic 7 km long Severn Tunnel; one of the longest sub-aqueous tunnels in the UK and, when it was built, among the longest in the world.   Using our RILA® system, we collected survey data without the need for track possessions. This data will be used in several applications including structure gauging of the Severn and Newport tunnels, alignment of overhead lines, and to support the design of enhancements on the South Wales relief lines 🚞   The class-leading accuracy of the RILA® data makes it possible for us to support multiple asset management and design use cases.
