Here’s why that matters:  As the energy transition is moving forward, reporting on sustainability becomes increasingly important – we want facts and numbers!  Two key elements of sustainability reporting are the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). An LCA calculates the environmental impact of a product’s lifecycle, while an EPD certifies these results, providing transparent, standardized information. We already offer LCAs through our unique and fully digital tool, but the big news is: We can offer EPDs too!    In fact, we are officially the first company in Europe to be 3rd party verified to develop and create EPDs in-house! 🎉 That means that we’ve now become a one-stop shop for identifying, optimizing, and documenting the environmental footprint of products and services in the energy industry, simplifying the entire process. Gearing up for another chapter in the Troll story! We are proud to share that we have been awarded another modification contract with Equinor, this time for Troll Phase 3, Stage II.💪🏼 As Norway’s largest gas field, Troll supplies 10% of Europe’s gas needs and is ready for the next chapter! This part of the story is about preparing the topside of Troll A for accelerating production from the Troll West gas reservoir. 🚀 Our project includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) for the topside modification. The Troll field feels like 'home' for us – we were involved in building the platforms back in the day, have completed several modification projects, are currently electrifying Troll West for the future, and also handle maintenance work on the platforms. Our team in Stavanger, with support from colleagues in Bergen, Mumbai, and the yard in Egersund, will start working on the project immediately, and it’s expected to be delivered by the end of 2027. Northern Lights: CO₂ receiving facility completed 🎉 The world’s first cross-border CO2 transport and storage facility, Northern Lights, is officially open! The official ceremony took place yesterday in Øygarden, marking an important step forward in the development of a global business model for carbon capture, transport, and storage. ☁️ We at Aker Solutions are extremely proud to have played a part in this landmark project. As a key contractor to Equinor, we delivered the engineering, procurement, and construction for the onshore facility. Northern Lights is part of Norway’s efforts to develop a full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain. The facility consists of a receiving terminal, injection pipeline, and subsea installations. 🏭 The first phase will see a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 per year, with plans to increase transport and storage capacity in the future. #NorthernLights #CCUS 📷Photo: Equinor

A green ammonia win in India with Ocior Energy! 🎊 We are proud to share that Ocior Energy Holding Ltd has selected us to deliver the front-end engineering and design (FEED) for their 600 TPD green ammonia project in Gopalpur, Odisha in eastern India. Green hydrogen and derivatives such as green ammonia, produced using renewable energy, are set to play a key role in meeting global decarbonization goals and supporting India’s economic ambitions. The FEED for Ocior Energy is being delivered by our India team, drawing upon over sixty years of experience in delivering complex projects and a strong track record with hydrogen production and downstream products. Entr supports US offshore carbon storage project Aker Solutions’ consultancy arm, Entr has teamed up with the world’s largest independent scientific research organization, Battelle, to assess the required offshore infrastructure for the Mid-Atlantic Offshore Carbon Storage Hub development. ☁️ Part of the Department of Energy’s initiative to accelerate carbon management deployment in the US, the project intends to establish a foundation to help meet regional decarbonization goals set by states communities and industries. 🌎 It will evaluate multiple geological storage options as well as economic advantages for jobs and long-term infrastructure development along the US east coast. 🌊 Entr’s team in Houston will work with experts across the globe, leveraging its decades of offshore and CCS expertise to provide the required infrastructure evaluation and design. 👷♀️ #CCS #CarbonCapture #Decarbonization
