Great things have happened in garages. Back in 1975, Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft in a garage in Albuquerque. So perhaps it’s no coincidence that our group workspace here at MIT in Boston is also called the Garage! This is where we've brought eight ambitious Norwegian companies to work on their growth projects, surrounded by critical perspectives, diverse opinions, and top-tier advice from mentors, professors, and entrepreneurs in residence at MIT. It's Monday morning here in Boston, and we’re gearing up for a full week at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship. Each day, these companies will gain insights and strategies that have the potential to propel their projects forward. A warm thank you to Agenda Vestlandet whose support makes this program possible—they’re here with us, to learn more about how this contributes to the energy transition and the creation of new sustainable jobs back home. This year’s cohort includes: Amundsen Kabel Aragon CCB - Coast Center Base Entail Flex2power Framo Glex AS Æge Energy Organised with ScalingLab

Gone with the wind? Wrapping up this years Offshore Wind Conference - Science Meets Industry, where researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers discussed; is Norway still a frontrunner in offshore wind? And what is the value creation potential for offshore wind in Norway? Thank you to all speakers, panelists and participants! Did you miss it? Here are some highlights from today: 🔹 Realistic Growth: "I am a realistic optimist - we need to be optimistic when the market is looking down, and realistic when the market looks too good to be true", stated Jan Fredrik Stadaas. 🔹 Progress Requires Patience: Developing offshore wind projects takes 10-15 years, according to Knut Vassbotn from Deep Wind Offshore, so steady progress is crucial. 🔹 Learning from Others: A stable regulatory framework and political support are essential for Norway’s competitiveness, emphasized Charlotte Elmelid from Vårgrønn #SMIBergen2024 Universitetet i Bergen (UiB) NORCE Norwegian Research Centre Kai Stoltz Karianne Kojen Andersen Thea Båtevik Kristin Guldbrandsen Frøysa Gry E. GCE Ocean Technology la ut dette på nytt
Today started with a blast 💥🎉 when I attended the GCE Ocean Technology/CMS Kluge Contract School 🎓. Erlend Aarli and Samuel Skrunes (Attorney/Partner at CMS Kluge) gave a great lecture on contracts, interpretation, negotiation, arbitration etc. ⚖️ Very useful and just what I needed. Having said that, I thought LOL had a different meaning, but that’s my bad, I guess… 🤷♂️ Looking forward to Day 2 tomorrow. Thea Båtevik and Kai Stoltz from GCE Ocean, this was great.
