Dawid Dobrzański, Senior Engineer at Global Maritime Sp. z.o.o, recently had the opportunity to lecture at Gdańsk University of Technology as part of its postgraduate program, 'Education for Sustainable Development: Offshore Wind Energy'—a program he has been supporting since its 3rd edition, which is now launching its 11th edition this month! Dawid’s session focused on Technical Risk Analysis & Assessment for Offshore Substations (OSS), covering key topics like: ✅ Fundamentals of risk analysis ✅ Polish legal requirements ✅ OSS-specific hazards ✅ HAZID & HAZOP methodologies ✅ Post-HAZOP risk assessment techniques “As offshore substations have a crucial role in the process of power evacuation from offshore wind farms, their reliability and safety—given the high requirements in dedicated law regulations—must be assured. There is no other way than to provide high-quality risk analysis and assessment. This analysis must consider all the very different aspects. 📢 We are delighted to announce that Global Maritime Deutschland GmbH has been awarded a contract by OS Energy GmbH to provide Dynamic Positioning (DP) Consultancy services for their newbuild fleet of DP2 offshore service vessels. These specially designed Offshore Survey and Service Vessels (#OSSV) will primarily operate in #offshorewind farms across the North and Baltic Seas, setting new benchmarks for versatility, environmental sustainability, and energy efficiency. GM’s scope of work encompasses the full DP assurance scope, including DP consultancy and support related to the planned newbuild fleet. This recent contract award further solidifies our long-standing partnership with OS Energy GmbH, with Global Maritime Deutschland GmbH conducting IMCA CMID inspections for the past three years. Martin Wasmund, Senior Mariner, at Global Maritime said, “We are delighted to have been awarded this DP contract and look forward to continuing our close collaboration with O.S. Looking back on a great few days at the 2025 Lillehammer Conference! Global Maritime’s James Vavasour and Chris Bintcliffe attended the premier global energy insurance conference, where industry leaders gathered to explore the current state of energy insurance markets and the broader geopolitical situation. #LECC2025 also provided a retrospective look at the experiences over 25 years with the Welcar insurance form. A key highlight was James Vavasour’s presentation on behalf of The Society of Offshore Marine Warranty Surveyors (SOMWS). His session, "WelCAR: Out of Warranty," provided valuable insights into the evolving offshore energy insurance landscape, covering: 🔹 The role of WELCAR in Marine Warranty Surveying (MWS) 🔹 What’s working ✅ 🔹 What’s not ❌ The insights and discussions were truly enlightening - we’re excited to apply these learnings to drive innovation and excellence in the industry!
