  • Long live the battery! Batteries with long cycle lives offer significant sustainability advantages, addressing environmental and economic challenges. 🔋By extending the lifespan of batteries, we can reduce the need for frequent replacements, ultimately lowering the consumption of raw materials. 🌳Reducing material demand alleviates pressure on natural ecosystems and helps mitigate climate impacts. 🌍The importance of improving resource efficiency has been emphasized globally. The United Nations Global Resource Outlook 2024 urgently calls for transformative actions to decouple economic growth from resource use. Among these, sustainable innovations in battery longevity stand out as a critical solution. By increasing the cycle life of batteries, we at Morrow contribute to this global effort by reducing resource extraction and promoting a more resilient global economy. Read on to learn more... • Congratulations to the Nordic Batteries team on driving green industrial growth with Factor 47! This week marked a significant milestone for our customer and partner as their pilot line, "Factor 47", officially opened in Kongsberg. Speakers at the event included Nordic Battery CEO Jarle Gjøsæther, our Chair of the Board, Liv Monica Stubholt and the guest of honour, the former Prime Minister Erna Solberg, who officially opened the pilot line. In her opening remarks, Ms. Solberg highlighted investing in emerging industries beyond oil and gas. This vision aligns perfectly with our shared commitment to building green energy businesses for a sustainable future. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with our friends at Nordic Batteries—a major step forward for their journey and the Norwegian battery value chain. #Betterbatteries #batteries #Sustainability #Energytransition #mission2morrow

Factor 47 is operative! Yesterday, the pilot line opened under the name Factor 47. Our CEO Jarle Gjøsæther held a speach to introduce the project , and Morrow's chair of the board, Liv Monica Stubholt, visited for an in-depth product review. It was the leader of Høyre and former prime minister, Erna Solberg, who officially opened Factor 47. In her speach, she emphasized the importance of investing in a new industry, not just oil and gas. Overall a big and inspiring day for Nordic Batteries. #Entrepreneurship #EnergyTransition #BatteryTechnology #sustainability #innovation #greenenergy #technology #startups

  • Reducing risk, reducing cost: our strategic focus this year Battery production is a multifaceted challenge, and we must do what we can to reduce complexity. This has been the mantra of Morrow since the very start in 2020.   We take a conservative and stepwise approach to entrepreneurship, learning from our own and others' experiences.   Today, we have presented strategic measures to sharpen our focus and accelerate our journey toward profitability. In 2025, we will concentrate on three critical priorities: 🔋Launch commercial production of LFP batteries at our Arendal factory. 📝Secure additional sales contracts to strengthen our market position. 👩🏽🔬Advance the development of our proprietary battery technology, paving the way for sustainable innovation.   To achieve these goals, we’ve decided to pause all other projects to streamline our operations and reduce costs to ensure a faster path to success. However, this decision comes with a heavy heart. Unfortunately, it means reducing our workforce by 50–60 employees. We deeply value the contributions of every team member who have joined Morrow to help "make Morrow", and parting ways with talented colleagues is never easy. This transition is challenging for everyone involved. Our vision remains steadfast: to become Europe’s first LFP gigafactory with a robust portfolio of customer contracts and innovative battery cell technologies. By focusing on what matters most, we’re building not just a company but an industry—step by step. See the press release in comments. #mission2morrow #betterbatteries #batteries

  • What is a battery? Making one is not as simple as one might think! We often get questions about the battery manufacturing process, so we've decided to break it down for you in the simplest way possible way we could imagine🔋 If you're looking for some interesting reading during the holiday season and want to understand battery production better, this post is for you! #mission2morrow #batteries #betterbatteries

  • Warm wishes for a joyful holiday season! Despite the challenges faced by the energy sector in Europe this year, we are proud of our industrial progress. We thank our supporters—owners, politicians, regional allies and many more —for their unwavering support and partnership. As we look forward to starting commercial production in the new year, we know that this achievement would not be possible without the support of our friends and neighbours. Thank you🙏 Festive cheers from Team Morrow #mission2morrow #batteries

  • The science and art of a battery cell. When showing visitors around, our battery specialists at the Morrow Cell Factory often emphasise that manufacturing battery cells is a blend of science and art. It’s a precise, high-speed process carried out on a large scale. You can find out more about the key stages of battery cell production below. Each step presents unique challenges, making the process both demanding and fascinating. #mission2morrow #betterbatteries #batteries

  • Ever wondered why batteries matters for the energy transition?🔋 …Batteries make renewable energy, like wind and solar, more reliable and efficient.  While these energy sources offer great potential, they also come with challenges that batteries can help solve: 1️⃣ Renewable energy isn’t available 24/7: Wind and solar power depend on weather conditions, so they can’t always produce energy. Batteries help by storing excess energy when it’s available, so it can be used later when the wind isn’t blowing or the sun isn’t shining. 2️⃣ Energy production isn’t always aligned with energy prices: Wind and solar often produce energy when prices are low, which makes it harder to make these projects profitable. Batteries solve this by storing energy when prices are low and releasing it when demand—and prices—are higher. This helps project owners get better returns and supports the growth of more renewable energy projects. 3️⃣ Renewables can create power peaks that strain the grid: Solar and wind energy can produce large amounts of power in a short time, which can overwhelm the grid. Batteries help by smoothing out these peaks, storing excess energy during times of high production and releasing it during times of low production. This reduces the need for the grid to be designed to handle these peak loads, making the entire system more cost-effective. "Batteries are quickly becoming the backbone of wind and solar energy projects, ensuring that renewable power is not only reliable and efficient, but also economically sustainable”, says Morrow Co-Founder and VP Bard Karlsen. #mission2morrow #batteries #betterbatteries #energystorage
