Nel Hydrogen is proud to be part of PosHYdon, the world’s first offshore renewable hydrogen production project. With the offshore deployment of key equipment, we’ve hit another important milestone. A big thank you to the PosHYdon team for letting us be a part of this incredible journey. Learn more here 👇
𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲! – 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗛𝗬𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘂𝗺 🏗️🚢 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙊𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙚 We’re excited to announce that the equipment, including electrolyser, for the PosHYdon project has successfully moved from its onshore testing location InVesta Alkmaar to the Q13a-A platform, 13km offshore Scheveningen. ✅ 𝙎𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙊𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙙! This milestone also marks the completion of a successful onshore testing phase, thanks to the collaboration of all 15 consortium partners. For the first time all components were integrated. This crucial step helps avoid costly challenges during offshore execution. 🌊 𝙉𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙚: 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 Now on the Q13a-A offshore platform, the electrolyser faces challenging offshore conditions like saltwater, and severe weather conditions. We aim to test whether hydrogen production from fluctuating offshore wind power—whether in strong or weak winds—can operate effectively. Observing how the system responds to these fluctuations will be key to ensuring success under varying conditions. 🚀 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙮 Large-scale offshore hydrogen production is within reach by 2030-2035. With 15 consortium partners working together, we’re gathering crucial insights to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness for future hydrogen installations. 💡💪 💚💙 #PosHYdon #Collaboration #Hydrogen #EnergyTransition #OffshoreHydrogen #OffshoreEnergy #SustainableFuture #RenewableEnergy #Teamwork #HydrogenPower #Innovation TNO, Nexstep - National Platform for Re-use & Decommissioning, Eni, Gasunie, Eneco, DEME Offshore NL, Nogat B.V., NGT B.V.
