In September, Scatec was recognised with a Gold medal, placing us among the top 5% best rated companies in sustainability by EcoVadis.☀️ In October, Scatec received an updated rating of Low Risk (11.2) from Sustainalytics which is our best score yet. For Morningstar Sustainalytics' we are rated 8th in our subindustry, namely Renewable Power Production comprising of nearly 100 companies.🍃 “We use sustainability ratings strategically to identify improvement areas across our organisation and collaborate across business units to share key insights and best practice. Over the last year, key efforts include strengthening our climate ambitions and Net Zero roadmap, more structured engagement with strategic suppliers, and working to formalise our nature agenda. We have fantastic and dedicated colleagues from all parts of our business who contribute to this recognition”, says Julie Hamre, VP Sustainability Reporting & Strategy. Scatec has secured Financial Close for the Mogobe BESS project in South Africa! 🔋🇿🇦 “This marks a new milestone for Scatec in South Africa and for the renewable energy transition in the country. The Mogobe BESS project is a first of a kind and reaffirms our standing as a leading renewable energy player in South Africa. We continue to see attractive growth opportunities in the market based on the need for growth in power generation, our strong position in the country and our strong and competent local team,” says Scatec CEO Terje Pilskog. Replicating successes from our hybrid solar and battery storage projects at Kenhardt, we will proceed to construct one of Africa’s first and largest standalone dispatchable BESS systems. The project is located near Kathu, Northern Cape, close to high power demand centres. ⚡ This achievement, coming just a day after Commercial Close was celebrated with the The IPP Office of South Africa and Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd in Cape Town on Wednesday night, demonstrates the strong support for innovative energy solutions in South Africa. We're excited to move forward with construction and bring this vital project to life. Read more here 👇 https://lnkd.in/dfdYP7e2 Standard Bank Group PERPETUA HOLDINGS Congratulations to the team! Our head of government affairs, Enja Sæthren, recently returned from Ukraine as part of Minister Cecilie T. Myrseth's business delegation, exploring how Norwegian businesses can support Ukraine now and in the future. 🇺🇦🤝🇳🇴 The delegation had productive meetings with Ukraine’s Energy Minister and other key stakeholders, discussing how to enable stronger business engagement in the country moving forward. “The trip left a lasting impact. The gravity of the ongoing war was ever-preset with most meetings held in bomb shelters due to the Russian assaults - a stark reminder of the daily challenges Ukrainians face. Despite two years of relentless conflict, the resilience of the Ukrainian people and their focus on rebuilding is truly inspiring. Special recognition goes to Alina Sviderska, Scatec’s Country Manager, and her team on the ground, ensuring our 336 MW solar plants continue delivering much needed power throughout the war,” says Enja. Ukraine’s energy crisis is severe, with 50% of generation capacity damaged. As another harsh winter approaches, the Ukrainian people are bracing for intensified attacks and widespread power cuts. There’s an urgent need for a decentralized energy system that is less vulnerable to as well as battery storage to mitigate the loss of baseload power and support the future growth of renewables.☀️ Norwegian businesses have the expertise to play a role in rebuilding Ukraine’s energy sector when the war is over, but strong public-private partnerships and risk reduction measures, like offtake guarantees, are essential to drive investment and make this possible. Together, we can help Ukraine build a more resilient and sustainable future. #Improvingourfuture #Changemakers #Workingtogether

🌍 Global Mental Health Day: Let's Prioritize Our Well-being at Work🧠 On this Global Mental Health Day, let's take a moment to focus on the importance of mental well-being, especially in the workplace. At Scatec, we launched our tools2thrive mental health campaign, shedding light on practical tools that contribute to a more empathetic working place. Throughout the month we will be working on the following tools and resources to support our employees: Exercise 🏃: Moving your body is not just good for physical health but also a powerful mood booster. We’re organising guided meditation and yoga classes, creating spaces where employees can rejuvenate and center themselves during the workday. Talk About It 🗣️: Creating an open dialogue about mental health is crucial. Let's support each other by listening and sharing. Introducing the “Jar of Emotions” in our offices! Every employee is encouraged to place an emoji in the emotions’ jar expressing how they feel, creating opportunities for open discussions with colleagues about emotional well-being. Seek Professional Help 👩⚕️: It's okay to seek guidance from mental health professionals when needed. Through local health insurances, we are offering psychological support services on selected locations. We encourage employees to make use of these resources. Self-Care 🛀: Prioritise activities that recharge you, from hobbies to mindfulness. We’re launching self-care initiatives, including massage sessions and country-specific giveaways tailored to local needs, to raise awareness towards relevance of self-care. We are inspired by the World Federation of Mental Health and their 2024 campaign, which focuses on mental health in the workplace. Let's work together to create a supportive, compassionate environment.
