Scam alert 🚨 We’re aware some people have received messages from scammers claiming they can recover money you’ve lost to past scams. If you receive one of these messages don’t act on it, don’t click on any links, or provide any personal or banking information. This type of scam is called a “recovery room” scam or follow-up fraud. Scammers pose as someone from a government agency, police, or any real organisation, and they will ask for an upfront fee for their recovery service. They can be very convincing as the scammer may already know your details, including the amount you’ve lost to a previous scam. If you think you’ve provided your details to a suspicious person or company, please call your bank immediately. We're available 24/7 on 0800 ASB FRAUD (0800 272 372), or +64 9 303 0332 if you're overseas. For more info on staying safe online visit asb.co.nz/asbscamhub

That's a wrap for Auckland Pride Month, and we're still beaming with aroha 💛 We had some memorable moments connecting with our people, partners and wider communities, including: 🏈 Our ASB Unity Network Group joined forces with the NZ Falcons at the Rainbow Parade, representing an integral part of Aotearoa's LGBTQIA+ sports scene and over a decade of partnership. 👚 Our ASB volunteers got together with RainbowYOUTH for Dress with Pride, one of Auckland Pride's closing events, helping young people access gender affirming clothes, haircuts and more. 🖥 We hosted Pride Pledge 🏳️🌈 on a virtual workshop for our ASB whānau across the country. This workshop focuses on how to create safe, welcoming and inclusive environments with everyday tools like pronouns. Supporting Rainbow Inclusion is an all-year round commitment for us, and we’re excited to continue on this journey.

Sweet spot for homebuyers? 🤔🏡 Our latest Housing Confidence Survey shows that Kiwi continue to be optimistic about the housing market and increasingly think that now is a good time to buy a house. “The combination of interest rates continuing to drop, high levels of homes on the market and house prices not quite back to normal puts buyers in a bit of a sweet spot,” according to our Chief Economist Nick Tuffley. Are New Zealanders expecting further OCR cuts, are they worried about the effects of Trump’s presidency on our markets, and which region is most confident? Read the full report on our website (link in comments). 👇

Innovating for a more sustainable future 💡🐄 One part of our Sustainable Progress Initiatives with Pamu Farms of New Zealand is the methane reduction through genetics programme. Last week, we visited their new testing facility at St Kilda, where cutting-edge research is measuring feed efficiency and methane emissions in beef and dairy-beef cattle. This work will help build the industry’s understanding of low methane genetics and lead to more sustainable breeding decisions. As Aidan Gent, our General Manager Rural banking, put it: “We’re passionate about the future of NZ’s food and fibre sector and supporting tools that help farmers future-proof their businesses.” #FutureProofFarming #SustainableProgress Turi McFarlane Joshua Farmer
