A late post as June has been a busy month! We have had multiple Accentuated workshops plus a few cohorts graduating :D We were also really grateful of having a lunch and learn with Erin (Baker) Black at our Accentuated Ōtautahi Christchurch Day 3 workshop. Day 3 was all about "Communicating and Influencing Effectively" and Erin talked to us about how to find common ground when it comes to building relationships. Accentuated Ōtautahi August 2024 cohort's Rātā Foundation funded places are still available, apply before 7 July! https://lnkd.in/gdryzGVx #womenofcolor #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #professionaldevelopment #diversity #diversityequityinclusion #equity #inclusion #coaching #mentoring

We went in-house for Accentuated at Auckland University of Technology this week! Like wow, felt the drive for more WoC representation was at another level compared to our public programmes because we could talk about challenges that are specific to this workplace and how we can band together to face these. Thank you Auckland University of Technology for supporting your women of colour kaimahi! Thank you Lian-Hong Brebner and Kirsty Steel for your support and getting the funding across. Thank you Jessica Murray for looking after our needs for the programme. https://lnkd.in/ggx_BieH #womenofcolor #diversityandinclusion #professionaldevelopment #coaching #mentoring #leadershipdevelopment #leadership
Absolutely thrilled to be part of the inaugural in-house program led by the Accentuated 2024 Leadership Programme for Women of Colour! It's a significant milestone for AUT to take the lead in addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by women of colour in the workplace. I'm genuinely excited to learn from inspiring women, grow personally and professionally, and share our stories about culture, heritage, religion, and identity. Let's embrace this opportunity to support each other and foster a more inclusive workplace! #WomenOfColour #Inclusion #ProfessionalGrowth

What do you think are the barriers and challenges that Women of Colour face? What are the benefits that WoC can bring to your organisation/team? What is one thing you can do in your role and within your power to support WoC? These were the questions that the Accentuated Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington cohort posed to the audience during the workshop section of their graduation! Nothing showed more leadership in action than the care and thought that has gone into specifying the questions then facilitating and guiding the audience, who are made up of their managers, colleagues, allies, mentors, mentees and whānau. Read about this Accentuated's cohort experience here https://lnkd.in/gES2aEhw The next round of Accentuated across the motu will start in early 2024, join us :D #womenofcolor #womenempowerment #womenempoweringwomen #coaching #mentoring #professionaldevelopment #growth #leadershipcoaching #leadership

Really grateful for all the enlightening kōreros and the exposure for Women of Colour Leadership and Asian Leadership! https://lnkd.in/g34JcDDt #coaching #mentoring #professionaldevelopment #professionalcoaching
Last week was massive for breaking barriers for Asian Leaders and Women of Colour! First up, there was "Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling" hosted by PwC where the panel of speakers and myself spoke about the challenges we have faced in the workplace that might have been due to our colour and whether there is a bamboo ceiling like the glass ceiling for women but bamboo for Asians. This was one of the firsts in this kaupapa in professional services firms like PwC. Thanks Emily Peng and Kalvin Yap for curating and organising the hui, Vasana Vanpraseuth, Rob Sykes and Beini Guo, CFA and the team at PwC for supporting and hosting. Stephanie Pow, Sean Yang and Rudian Ahmad, it was a pleasure to be on the panel with you! Then we had two days of HR Changemakers Festival hosted by Love HR and Stephanie Love where I spoke about "How to Support Women of Colour and Ethnically Diverse Staff". Wow the speaker line up was made up of movers and shakers like Stephanie Pow, Mela Lush, Martin King 🏳️🌈, Rich Rowley, Prof Jarrod Haar, PhD, FRSNZ, CFHRNZ, Charlotte Lockhart MNZM - 4 Day Week, Dellwyn Stuart, Philly Powell, Lindsey Rayner (she/her) and Tracy Minnoch-Nuku. Also it was a room of HR professionals and people leaders who are eager to listen, learn and support. Super grateful of this opportunity to gain the exposure, thanks Stephanie Love and Love HR for putting this on. I know how much mahi and aroha you've put into this Stephanie and it has been great to see it come alive. Look forward to next year #hrchangemakersfestival #diversityequityinclusion #diversityandinclusion #hrprofessionals #womenofcolor #womenempowerment #womenempoweringwomen #asianleaders #leadership #coaching
