InternetNZ has been engaging with other technical operators as A Technical Community Coalition for Multistakeholderism (TCCM). The TCCM has this year been focussed on the Global Digital Compact (GDC) which is being negotiated right now in the United Nations. We had a fantastic time participating in the panel session on APNIC 58 hosted at Victoria University of Wellington yesterday. It was awesome engaging with young people and to hear about their interests in careers in IT. A recent study has shown that New Zealanders find it hard to unplug from the internet. The basic need to access services such a banking, transportation, two-step login verification, fitness and entertainment create barriers to fully unplugging from the internet. Tihei mauriora! This evening, at our 2024 AGM, we announced the results of our recent Council elections. Our newly elected President is Stephen Judd. Stephen is a current Councillor, nau piki mai ki tō turanga hōu, Stephen. We welcome another current Councillor, Anjum Rahman (MNZM, FCA), into the position of Vice President and Richard Hulse returns as a Councillor. Congratulations, kei runga noa atu.
