The recent delivery of an OMB programme for 10 schools across Auckland was a truly collaborative effort. We worked with the Ministry of Education, Crown Infrastructure Delivery, Buildsmart, Portacom, and CM-NZ (plus many other subcontractors) to design, consent and build 46 teaching spaces to accommodate 1,300 kids. Leveraging our group building technologies capabilities through Preformance Building Technologies, all architectural and structural design was produced in-house. And using our managing contractor model, we were able to deliver this project at 10 sites concurrently across the city in six months, meeting the budget and timeline with room to spare. These spaces are a great answer for growing schools that need efficient solutions to provide their students with modern spaces to learn in, and we’re proud to be able to meet this need with high-tech, adaptable spaces. With minimal disruptions to the day-to-day school operations, OMB programmes are ideal for meeting a school’s temporary or permanent space requirements.

A new landmark building will be popping up on the Grey Lynn ridgeline soon. CIVIX planners have recently obtained consent for a 5-storey building in the heart of the city fringe. Designed by Mercer and Mercer Architects, the building is a prime example of how inner-city living can be boosted by a strong architectural response. Despite exceeding the height limits, the proposal was recognised for its high-quality design and activation of the street. A great outcome of intensification in central Auckland!

  • Nick Mattison and Sam Blackbourn were recently featured in an article by Leon Della Bosca in The Urban Developer, a leading source on Australian property and development activity. The article discusses the transformative potential of AI in construction. Australia is uniquely positioned to benefit from AI-based designs, certified by CPEng, and we are eager to explore this market further in 2025. Nick and Sam will be in Brisbane next week to finalise key arrangements and projects as we expand our efforts in Brisbane and the surrounding areas. Stay tuned for more updates! https://lnkd.in/exGcqCaP

  • A stunning new contemporary home designed by Bossley Architects has been approved in the Special Character Overlay next to St Cuthbert's College. With assistance from archifact - architecture & conservation limited, we navigated the usual heritage concerns raised by the Council's specialists, ensuring a thorough assessment for this rear site. This exceptional home features its very own badminton court, further enhancing the modern architectural language of the redevelopment. We can't wait to see the build come to life!
