Here's a recap of an amazing year for Hardware Meetup NZ 🎉
About us
We believe New Zealand should be global leaders in the development of hardware and physical products. In response, Hardware Meetup NZ is bringing together some of New Zealand's brightest engineers, hardware entrepreneurs, product designers and enthusiasts to meet each other and celebrate our products. Our quarterly events, held at Outset, the home of Deep Tech, are showcasing some of New Zealand's most exciting products and founders. We're trying to create an environment for open conversations, opportunities, and shared resources. Events are themed (HealthTech, Aerospace, AgTech etc), and include a combination of guest speakers, product demos, and one-minute pitches. We are committed to providing a safe environment for attendees, and you can find our Code of Conduct here: https://hardwaremeetup.co.nz/code-of-conduct You can find more details on our website: http://hardwaremeetup.co.nz/ *This is an independently run initiative and is not aligned with any one organisation.

Our first event outside of Auckland, Hardware Meetup NZ: Hardware in Christchurch, was a hit. 🎉🥳 We had 70 people in the hardware ecosystem attend the event in person in Christchurch, as well as another 7 people who attended a watch party in Queenstown, and a number of others who joined online. We got to hear from some amazing speakers: Brendon Hale from Basis, Jason Orchard from Evnex and Daniel Milligan from Syft Technologies. Thanks to our sponsors: GPC Electronics, Outset Ventures, Intranel and Dassault Systèmes. Check out the video and photos on the event page below. Looking forward to hosting a number of exciting events in the new year - watch this space!

Due to overseas travel commitments, Stefan from Dawn Aerospace is no longer able to present at the Christchurch event. However, we have a new speaker to announce 🥁🥁🥁 Daniel Milligan from Syft Technologies ⚡ Daniel is the CTO of Syft Technologies and started his career as a kineticist. His PhD was studying ion-molecule chemistry and SIFT-MS with Professor McEwan, after which he did a post-doctoral fellowship at Cal Tech / NASA / JPL in Pasadena, California. He returned to SIFT-MS and Syft via a University of Canterbury postdoctoral fellowship in 2003. Daniel's interests have always centered around instrumentation and he now heads the Development and Engineering efforts of Syft. His path to this role has not always been direct, however, going by way of applications development, support, and a stint as VP of Technology for Syft in Cleveland, Ohio. Tickets can be grabbed here ⬇ https://lnkd.in/gn44hMvB

Introducing our third speaker for the upcoming Hardware Meetup NZ: Hardware in Christchurch event 🥁🥁🥁 - Jason Orchard from Evnex ⚡ Jason Orchard is the Head of Engineering at Evnex. He is passionate about product development, enjoys working with teams that are dedicated to solving challenging problems, and thrives on seeing the positive impact their hard work has on communities. His interest in technology began at a young age, always eager to discover how things work under the hood. This curiosity has led him to work in various industries, including medical devices, scientific instrumentation, and now e-mobility. Tickets can be grabbed here ⬇ https://lnkd.in/gn44hMvB
