We’re excited to share our latest application note: Rapid and Quantitative Screening of Nitrosamines in Drug Products Using Headspace-SIFT-MS. This study highlights how the Syft Tracer Pharm11 solution delivers: ✅ Compliance with USP criteria for six nitrosamines. ✅ Exceptional sensitivity with low limits of quantitation (as low as 0.03 ppm for NDEA). ✅ High recovery rates in even the most complex drug matrices. ✅ Significant savings on solvents, consumables, and operational complexity compared to traditional chromatographic methods. With headspace-SIFT-MS, screening for nitrosamines and volatile impurities has never been faster, simpler, or more efficient. About us
Syft Technologies designs and manufactures a revolutionary Mass Spectrometer (SIFT-MS) that enables detection of virtually all gaseous chemicals down to pptv in seconds. Customers include Baker Hughes, Samsung, Ford Motor Company, LG, SC Johnson and others who love Syft’s speed, ease of use, very low detection limits, low consumable costs and the ability to measure compounds that are difficult for other techniques: amines, sulphides, aldehydes and reactive species. This ground breaking technique emerged out of investigations of ion chemistry in the Earth’s atmosphere, and other planetary atmospheres, and was developed further at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. In 2002, Syft Technologies was formed, providing sufficient funding to take this academic research into a fully developed commercial solution. Now Syft instruments are sold throughout the world, in a wide range of applications as diverse as mud logging, to cutting-edge breath research. In all applications the unique attributes of Selected Ion Flow Tube Mass Spectrometry (SIFT-MS) have enabled our customers to measure significantly more than they thought was possible, resulting in a greater understanding of their products. Providing customer solutions is at the core of Syft Technologies. We employ a vibrant team of chemists, physicists, mathematicians, and engineers, who enable Syft to provide customized solutions for our customers. This is the reason why every Syft customer speaks so highly about Syft, and why most make repeat purchases. Contact us to find out more about Syft Technologies and how this innovative technology can help your business.

"To begin with, it was the need to detect VOCs rapidly. So one of the first applications that we had for the Syft was actually to put it on the mobile platform and map pollutants across cities, which you couldn't do with offline techniques." In a recent post, I advised of publication of a review on automated SIFT-MS and its enhanced workflows: https://lnkd.in/gxX374BM. My coauthor Mark Perkins has turned it into a webinar with Element Cambridge - Laboratory Solutions Division, which you can view on demand here: https://lnkd.in/gWKfW6cD Keep an eye out for bonus content giving a sneak peek of more recent work he has been doing on workflows. Note that three technical notes adapted from the review article will be available on the Syft Technologies website within a few weeks.
