    “We cannot predict the future, but we can shape it,” Klemens Haselsteiner, 1980-2025 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our CEO, Klemens Haselsteiner, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, 17 January 2025. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones. Klemens Haselsteiner didn’t just want to change things. He actually did change things. He left his mark on the company. He inspired the industry. As a visionary, a creative mind, a hands-on leader. But above all: as a human being. Today, as in the past, STRABAG is in a strong economic and structural position. We have a clear vision for the future. For this, we are infinitely grateful to Klemens Haselsteiner. Klemens Haselsteiner ist plötzlich und unerwartet am Freitag, 17.01.2025, verstorben. Unsere Gedanken und unser Mitgefühl sind bei seiner Familie und seinen Angehörigen. Klemens Haselsteiner wollte nicht nur etwas verändern. Er hat es getan. Er hat die STRABAG geprägt. Er hat unsere Branche inspiriert. Als Visionär, Ideengeber, Anpacker. Aber vor allem: als Mensch. STRABAG ist heute wie gestern wirtschaftlich und strukturell stark aufgestellt. Wir haben eine klare Vision für die Zukunft. Dafür sind wir Klemens Haselsteiner unendlich dankbar.     Our colleague Christoph, who has been in Oman for several years as an International Project Manager, feels happy working in such a multicultural and welcoming environment like Oman, despite never fully getting used to the heat. He also highlights the soft skills that are crucial for success and that drives him and his team every day: 🌍 The ability to work in a large international team and adapt to diverse cultures. 📍 Being open and flexible to different locations, and quickly adjusting to their unique conditions. 🤝 Strong team spirit!     Rekord-Auftragsbestand im ersten Halbjahr 2024! 🏆 Trotz anspruchsvoller Marktbedingungen – besonders in Österreich – freuen wir uns, dass wir als STRABAG unsere Stärke eindrucksvoll unter Beweis stellen konnten!💪 Neben spannenden neue Großprojekten, haben wir uns von Energiewende-Initiativen bis hin zu bedeutenden Sanierungs- und Infrastrukturprojekten in Deutschland, Kanada sowie in Zentral- und Osteuropa facettenreiche Aufträge gesichert. Dadurch ist es uns gelungen, den Auftragsbestand im Vergleich zum Jahresende 2023 um beeindruckende 7 % auf € 25,2 Mrd. zu steigern – ein neuer Rekordwert in unserer Unternehmensgeschichte! 🚀 Mit dieser Auslastung sind wir bereits jetzt gut in Richtung 2026 aufgestellt und fühlen uns in unserem Kurs bestätigt. Unsere Leistung wuchs leicht um 1 % auf € 8,3 Mrd., die EBIT-Marge blieb stabil bei 1,1 %, und das Konzernergebnis kletterte sogar um 23 % auf € 91,5 Mio.! 📈 Aber: Das ist für uns noch lange kein Grund, sich auszuruhen! Record Order Backlog in the First Half of 2024! 🏆 Despite challenging market conditions – especially in Austria – we proudly announce that we at STRABAG have once again demonstrated our strength! 💪 Next to exciting new large-scale projects, we have secured multi-faceted commissions from energy transition initiatives to major renovation and infrastructure projects in Germany, Canada, and CEE. As a result, we’ve grown our order backlog by an impressive 7% to €25.2 billion compared to the end of 2023 – the highest value in our company’s history! 🚀 This strong pipeline positions us well towards 2026, affirming the course we’ve set for ourselves. Our output volume increased slightly by 1% to €8.3 billion, the EBIT margin remained stable at 1.1%, and we even boosted our net profit by 23% to €91.5 million! 📈 But: We’re not stopping here!     Über 50 Jahre Sonne, Sand und Wüstenstaub: STRABAG im Oman 🇴🇲 Wer zunächst an Kamele🐫 und Karawanen denkt, ersetze diese mit Staudämmen, Straßen, Brücken und Flughäfen✈️. Die Erfolgsgeschichte von STRABAG im Oman reicht bis in die 1970er zurück. Denn, wusstet ihr, dass die erste asphaltierte Autobahn des Landes von uns gebaut wurde? 🤩 1971 begannen die Bauarbeiten der 240 km langen Strecke zwischen Matrah bei Maskat und Sohar, die innerhalb von knapp 2,5 Jahren erfolgreich abgeschlossen wurden. Das Projekt hatte einen besonderen Stellenwert: Die direkte Verbindung zwischen der Hauptstadt Maskat und der im Norden gelegenen Hafenstadt Sohar bildete die Basis für neue sozioökonomische Strukturen.🛣️ Seit nun mehr als 50 Jahren dürfen wir im Oman zur Errichtung wichtiger und nachhaltiger Infrastruktur beitragen. Dabei sind nicht nur unsere Projekte divers: Unsere multinationalen Teams arbeiten stetig daran, unsere Erfolgsgeschichte im Sultanat Oman weiter fortzuschreiben. ✍️ . Over 50 years of sun, sand and desert dust: STRABAG in Oman 🇴🇲 If you initially think of camels🐫 and caravans, replace them with dams, roads, bridges and airports✈️. STRABAG's success story in Oman goes back to the 1970s. Because, did you know that the country's first asphalted motorway was built by us? 🤩 In 1971, construction work began on the 240 km stretch of motorway between Matrah near Muscat and Sohar, which was successfully completed in just under 2.5 years. The project had a special significance: the direct connection between the capital Muscat and the northern harbour city of Sohar formed the basis for new socio-economic structures.🛣️ For more than 50 years, we have been able to contribute to the construction of important and sustainable infrastructure in Oman.
