Moamba District in southern Mozambique is taking strides toward a sustainable agricultural future through sweetpotato 🍠 cultivation. Thanks to hands-on training facilitated by IIAM in partnership with CIP, local farmers are adopting modern techniques to grow and multiply sweetpotato vines, ensuring higher yields 🌱 and better food security. As part of the TAAT II project, supported by the African Development Bank Group and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), these farmers are embracing climate-resilient, high-yield sweetpotato varieties.

Join us in celebrating 108 small vendors from Quezon City, Philippines, who graduated on August 23 from Vendor Business School (VBS) Program—the first of its kind in the country 🎉! The innovative program is a partnership of the CGIAR Resilient Cities Initiative with lead International Potato Center and the Quezon City Government, VBS empowers small food vendors with the knowledge, skills, and resources for the sustainable development of small food businesses in cities. The VBS program is designed to guide and support vendors through training sessions 📚 and mentorship programs focused on entrepreneurship, business planning, budgeting, marketing, risk management, adapting to technological changes, establishing financial connections, and ensuring food safety. VBS draw upon the model of Farmer Business Schools (FBS), which have, through participatory action and the strengthening of agribusinesses, proven to be beneficial for over 3,500 farmers in India, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
