  • Kuwentong Blanko o Barbero? The real story behind the 2025 National Budget Signing Former President Rodrigo Duterte and Davao City 3rd District Rep. Isidro Ungab’s allegations over blank budget items have cast doubt on the integrity of the 2025 National Budget. President Marcos vehemently denied these allegations, claiming that the former President was lying and claims this has never happened before in Philippine political history. This episode aims to educate the public on the budget process, understand the facts presented by both sides and come to an objective conclusion based on reason and not emotion. We have invited Pinoy Street Lawyer Atty DJ Jimenez and The Political Labandera (TLP3) blogger Maureen Mejia-Villar to join the discussion with PEER Aaron Benedict De Leon this Sunday, 26 January 2025, 10:00-11:00 AM Live on the PEERS Youtube and Facebook channels.

This Sunday, 19 January 2025, we look into the motivations behind the conduct mass gatherings and mobilizations and how it shapes and influences public policy, perception and action on key political and social issues. Joining us in the discussion is SANLAKAS Secretary-General Atty Aaron Pedrosa and political pundit Kurt Simon Cruz.

  • “Again and again, I could only describe our politics as liquid if not cacophonous as it remains archaic; very much subject to the anachronistic socioeconomic structure that is ironically shaped by unrestrained hustler if not prostitute type of capitalism. It’s no longer a simple choice between people and or groups vying for leadership. We have to really consider learning more, that is going out of our way to be more informed as issues become more and more technical and complicated.” - Peer Ed Tayao READ MORE: https://bit.ly/3C7UGH1

Much have been said about the budget especially the 2025 budget. But why and what is it exactly? Is it simply about spending for government? We have been hearing a lot of discussions about what should have been budgeted and so on but how much to we actually know about it? This Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM, let’s talk about important details of the budget especially about its overall significance. Let’s have a broad view but also specific views so that we’ll have a better appreciation of both the specific issues and the grander view. Join us in this important salvo of a discourse this new year.

Much of what we see and hear in politics and government these days are heightened by emotions. This is but expected except that it prevents us from finding out what really needs to be done. More importantly, if we soberly weigh in on important issues, then we’d likely arrive at better solutions. For this episode we invited no less Dr. Tony Leachon who has called the attention of many on the MOA between PhilHealth and Tingog partylist. We also invited the Rep. Jude Acidre of Tingog who thought of the measure as a way to bridge the medical needs at the countryside. Join us this Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 10 AM here on Facebook live stream or on our YouTube Channel. About the Resource Persons: Anthony C. Leachon, M. D.
