The British Embassy in Philippines maintains and develops relations between the UK and Philippines.
Tungkol sa amin
The British Embassy in Philippines maintains and develops relations between the UK and Philippines. Both the UK and the Philippines are outward looking island nations committed to democracy, trade and investment, and support for the United Nations. As well as close government-to-government relations, the two nations have contacts at all levels of civil society. We are also here to support and protect UK interests in Palau. We develop the already close and substantive bilateral relationship by focusing on several important areas of co-operation such as: human rights issues, environment, economic development, disaster planning, international crime and terrorism and maximising commercial opportunities for British business. Britain has major investments in the Philippines concentrated in power, energy, agri-business, transport, water and financial services. Bilateral trade is worth around US$2bn annually, with the balance in the Philippines’ favour. The UK is one of the largest foreign investors in the Philippines.

Minister West met Filipina peacebuilders to hear their experiences and challenges – and how their work is building a better future for all. The 🇬🇧 UK has provided over £13 million for peace and stability in the BARMM, with a focus on women, in peace and security. We have supported 150 women mediators who are now working with their communities on conflict resolution. We have also supported local action plans, the empowerment of women peacebuilders, and promoted inclusion in governance structures.

For the first time ever, the UK Defence and Security Exports were exhibited at the Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) Exhibition 2024. On its fifth edition, ADAS was themed “Building on a Decade of Defense Capability”, with government officials, international delegations, and industry leaders converging on a three-day exhibition of advanced technologies, systems, hardware, and electronic warfare designed to adapt to the evolving defense landscape. At the UK Pavilion, we were joined by the Ministry of Defence DE&S Export and Sales, Enterprise Control Systems, DTM Global, MSI Defence, Repaircraft PLC, Spectra Group Ltd, SubSea Craft, and Thales UK. A welcome reception, in partnership with BAE Systems Inc, was also held and brought together the industry as well as stakeholders in the Philippines defense community. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recently signed the Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRPD) Revitalization Act which aims to bolster the Philippine defense industry development and key capabilities, alongside its procurement structure. The UK industry is ready to align with the SRDP law and participate in the Philippines’ modernization efforts as a reliable partner for #DefenseAndSecurity solutions.
