As part of our continued efforts to empower women through skill development and sustainable livelihood opportunities, Soorty Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., through its SOCI Women's Empowerment Initiative, in collaboration with DOCH PVT.LTD, has successfully completed the training of its second batch of 25 women artisans in Naal, Balochistan. With a female literacy rate of only 15% and average incomes hovering around the USD 2/day poverty line, economic opportunities for women in Balochistan remain extremely limited. By providing vocational training and creating sustainable income opportunities in rural communities, we are empowering women to become self-reliant contributors to their local economies. To further support their transition into the workforce, toolkits were distributed to each participant, equipping them with the resources needed to apply their skills for the long term. Many of these women come from farming families, and this initiative offers them an opportunity to contribute economically to their households while preserving local craftsmanship. We look forward to expanding this initiative and connecting participants’ work to broader markets, fostering long-term financial independence in underserved communities. #SoortyEnterprises #WomenEmpowerment #RuralDevelopment #EconomicInclusion #TraditionalCraftsmanship #CommunityDevelopment #Balochistan #UNSDGs United Nations Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH GIZ Pakistan UN Women UN Women Asia and the Pacific
