🎉 Cea de-a 11-a ediție a Conferinței Naționale de Farmacoeconomie și Management Sanitar (CNFMS) 🎉 OSMR a avut onoarea de a participa din nou la acest eveniment emblematic, care a devenit un reper în industria farmaceutică din România: Conferința Națională de Farmacoeconomie și Management Sanitar, ediția din anul acesta a fost programată pentru perioada: 17-20.10.2024 la Poiana Brașov. CNFMS a devenit un spațiu în care persoane cheie din industria farmaceutică explorează idei inovatoare, pun acces pe îmbunătățire continuă și pe colaborare inter-disciplinară. Totodată, este locul unde se discută probleme reale și se propun soluții viabile — iar această ediție nu a fost o excepție! Kudos as well to the meeting’s moderator and a long-time member of the OSMR technical team – Dan Visoiu – who presented an overview of the system and outlined the benefits of the new NMVS graphical interface – which improves the user experience through simpler and more intuitive navigation. Moreover, he encouraged the participants to engage in meaningful best practice sharing which sparked active and constructive discussions. And a very special thanks to Felicia Aciu & Loredana-Andreea Irimia, who also played an important role in the event, presenting an overview of the comprehensive support they offer, as well as the challenges they are currently addressing. Their presentation reinforced OSMR's dedication to continuous improvement and effective problem-solving. It was an extremely productive meeting, and we are excited to continue working together with all stakeholders to ensure a continuous improvement of the NMVS. 🔔 Software Providers’ Community – First Meeting Face-to Face 🔔 Yesterday, September 26th, OSMR - The Romanian Medicines Serialisation Organisation had the pleasure of hosting its first face-to-face meeting with the software providers with whom it managed to grow, over the course of 5 years, an online collaborative community. The event brought together key stakeholders, such as representatives from the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices – Ms. Felicia Costinescu – General Manager, General Directorate of Pharmaceutical Inspection, Mr. Andrei Grigore, Manager – General Directorate of Pharmaceutical Inspection/ Falsified Medicines Alerts Office, from the Economic Crime Investigation Directorate - Police chief commissioner - Mr. Răzvan Marinică and Police senior inspector - Mr. Cristian Șerlău, OSMR President – Mr. Dan Zaharescu, OSMR General Manager – Mr. Laurentiu Mihai, Arvato representative – Mr. Alexandru Chetrusca and a very special guest – Mr. Peter Berger-Piascek, Operations Management, AMVS - Austrian Medicines Verification System GmbH. A special thanks to Peter Berger-Piascek for his valuable presentation of the Austrian NMVS and the custom-made alert system, this being a great example of best practice sharing between two organisations which have contributed to building a unique, interoperable and reliable system which delivers patient safety at European level. 🙏 Thank you also Livius Carp, OSMR Technical Director, who highlighted the fact that the Romanian Medicines Verification System has consistently performed well, ensuring efficient and secure verification of medicines across the country.

Counterfeit medicines represent a threat to patients’ health and safety. They are not subject to the rigorous evaluation of quality, safety and efficacy that is required as part of EU authorisation procedure. They contain insufficient quantities, the wrong or no pharmaceutical ingredient at all. At “best”, they don’t work. In the worst cases, they kill. We are committed to promoting access to safe and efficacious medicines, raising awareness about the dangers of counterfeit medicines, and combating unsafe medicines. Together with other stakeholders across the supply chain, we have implemented under the supervision of competent authorities effective measures to prevent counterfeit medicines reaching EU patients through, for example, the European Medicines Verification System. The system enables pharmacies and hospitals across Europe to verify the authenticity of medicines before they are dispensed to patients. #Imagine a world where no counterfeit medicine ever reaches a patient. Through innovation and collaboration, we can make this a reality. #WorldPatientSafetyDay

📚 Talking to Future Pharmacists 📚 Following last year’s good practice, that of engaging with students from the Pharmacy and Chemistry Faculties, #OSMR welcomed, with gratitude, #ANMDMR’s invitation to offer this year’s internship students, including undergraduates from the Medical Engineering Faculty, an overview of the National Medicines Verification System (#NMVS). We were delighted to continue our collaboration with the National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (ANMDMR) by sharing our insights with a new group of aspiring pharmacists, further strengthening our partnership and expressing our commitment to offering our support in educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. OSMR would like to thank ANMDMR for this opportunity, and to the students for their enthusiasm and engagement.
