We are excited to share the news from our recent meeting with the Mayor of Haapajärvi, Jonna Tamminen, and the members of the City Council, to discuss our exploration activities in the region. The Northgold representatives at the meeting were CEO Seppo Tuovinen, Exploration Manager Simo Piippo and Markus Latvala, CEO of our environmental partner company Feasib Oy.   In the meeting, we presented our exploration projects, outlined our objectives for transitioning deposits into mining operations, and engaged in fruitful discussions regarding Northgold’s work in the area. The main subject of our discussion covered our exploration projects that also benefit the local community through for example subcontracting, direct sourcing, tax revenue, salaries, and property rentals. Press release (7 December 2023) Northgold reports remaining 2023 gold and copper drill results from Kopsa, including 0.91 grams per tonne gold-equivalent over 105.2 metres “We are delighted to follow the previously announced strong drill results from deeper, south-central portions of the deposit, with today’s announced continued success on either side. Gold's push above $2,000 could be the start of a bigger rally as commodity analysts at Societe Generale see gold prices holding around $2,200 an ounce through most of 2024. In its recent commodity outlook, the French bank said that even with elevated bond yields, the bond market presents less of a risk for gold going forward. The bank’s analysts identified critical factors impacting gold prices, which could push the market to all-time highs in the new year. "When treasuries experience the level of volatility that they are experiencing today, the value of future cash flows attached to a coupon strip over a non-interest-bearing asset like gold diminishes," SocGen’s analysts said.
