Volvo Buses is confirming two exciting new partnerships with the leading digital transport solutions providers Optibus and Stoneridge. The aim is to make Optibus’ public transport management software and Stoneridge’s data and artificial intelligence fuel advice solution available to Volvo Buses’ customers in selected markets in pilot mode during 2024. “Our strategy is to create partnerships with companies at the forefront of digital development that will further strengthen our connected services offer. Already in 2020, in partnership with the Science Based Target initiative, Volvo Group created a set of goals to progress against. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) helps organizations set targets in line with the latest climate science to keep global warming as low as possible, in accordance with the Paris Climate Agreement. Volvo Buses will use AI to help decarbonize supply chain. Utilizing capabilities of artificial intelligence will help us to reach our ambitious targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the supply chain by 25% already in 2025, and by 100% by 2040. We're proud to announce that Keolis has ordered another 31 Volvo 9700 double decker buses, to operate in Gothenburg, Sweden to add to the 22 they already have. The vehicles will feature the newly launched B13R engine, which offers fuel savings up to 9 percent. “One key factor is that the coaches have triple fuel flexibility and can be run on diesel, HVO or RME,” says Orton Karl, Fleet Director at Keolis Sverige AB.
