Scania's Transmission Assembly exemplifies the importance of diversity and inclusion. This spring, 800 employees received training to enhance understanding of the value a diverse workforce brings. “We were able to halt production for three hours on five occasions, engaging employees in a value-creating way while minimising cost loss,” says Elin Sjöberg, Group Manager, Logistics Development and one of the initiators of the training initiative. Using the train-the-trainer method and collaborating with Teknikkvinnor, the workshops have fostered an inclusive culture, improved workplace atmosphere, and expanded networks within the assembly. This is the largest effort ever undertaken to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion issues in production. Linda Löf, one of the employees who attended the training, shares: “I have gained insight into how we sometimes behave towards each other and, more importantly, how certain word choices can impact others. This I will carry forward, and it will make me more confident in acting in real time if I hear something inappropriate. The workshop has been valuable, and I believe many, like me, had an eye-opening experience.” #diversity #inclusion #culture
