The Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) is all about networking and sharing knowledge, Delta Marine Consultants Singapore and Van Oord contributed by our participation in an expert panel and several sessions. Delta Marine Consultants Singapore’s Managing Director, Zi Qian Y. gave a presentation on Coastal Resilience Through Hybrid Infrastructure and participated in the panel discussion. In parallel the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore and EcoShape organised a working session on “Successful Sustainable Coastal and Urban Resilience in Southeast Asia”. As core member of the EcoShape Management team, our Van Oord colleague Amrit Cado had the honour to present what it is that EcoShape does, and showcase how to create an enabling environment for the implementation of Nature Based Solutions. In addition, we took part in the Water Convention Poster Sessions, where we proudly presented our findings on the Sustainable Maintenance of Coastal Protection Structures. We also shared our participatory approach to Climate Adaptation through Mangrove Restoration, sparking fruitful discussions and collaborations. #SIWW2024 #SingaporeInternationalWaterWeek2024 #VanOord #DeltaMarineConsultants #CoastalResilience #FloodResilience #CoastalProtection

What a month last June has been! Delta Marine Consultants Singapore participated together with Van Oord in the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW). A week packed with sharing information, innovation and coastal and flood solutions. We would like to start with sharing our heartfelt gratitude to SIWW and PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency by organising the convention. A special thanks to your staff for their incredible efforts in bringing the community together and creating this great event. As Delta Marine Consultants and Van Oord, we had the honour of participating with a stand, where we engaged in extensive networking and shared insights on our services, ranging from Vision to Creation. Highlights included the GEOWALL® technology and the integration of Nature-Based Solutions, such as mangroves, into infrastructure development. Furthermore, we participated in several sessions at the Dutch Pavilion organised by Partners for Water in close cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore. A big shout out and thanks for all our partners and colleagues who made this event possible! Our valued partner Expand Construction Pte Ltd is appointed as main contractor by the Ministry of Defence of Singapore (MINDEF) and the Ministry of National Development Singapore (MND). The official ground-breaking ceremony took place two weeks ago. As you might noticed when passing by, currently the piling work is in progress. Huge thanks to everyone who made the last weeks ‘Forum for Climate Change Adaptation Session 15 a success! The event was hosted by Delta Marine Consultants Singapore and co-organised by National University of Singapore’s Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute Singapore (CFI Singapore) in collaboration with PIANC International. 🌟 The event was opened by the welcome address of Delta Marine Consultants Singapore’s Managing Director Mr. Zi Qian Y. followed by CFI’s Director Research, Professor C G Koh who gave the opening remarks and shared his insights about CFI’s mission and objective. Honorary Associate Professor Ron Cox of UNSW Water Research Laboratory representing PIANC provided a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements in Climate Change Science, particularly its implications for the Navigation and Ports sector. Meanwhile, Professor Adrian Law (NUS) has navigated us through the indispensable role that Forecasting plays in Climate Change Adaptation, with a specific focus on Coastal Perspectives. Adding to the discourse, Van Oord’s Director Dredging Mr. Mark Roelofs shared Flood Protection from a Contractor’s perspective by advocating for an integrated approach between Governments, Knowledge Institutes, Consultants and Contractors and emphasised on an emergency response which took place in The Netherlands last year. The closing remarks were made by Mr. Charles Quek the CEO of HSL Constructor Pte Ltd and Vice-President of the Singapore Water Association (SWA) about upcoming topics and discussions. The speakers expertise fostered a deeper understanding of the multifaceted aspects of Climate Change from different perspectives. We thank you for contributing to the discourse! 🌐🙏 Thanks to all who contributed and attended. Let's continue this journey of knowledge-sharing and open dialogue together! 🙌💼. #DeltaMarineConsultants #FCCA #CFI #NUS #PIANC #VanOord #ClimateChangeAdaptation #CoastalProtection #SWA
