Early detection is crucial in the fight against any type of cancer. When it comes to melanoma, its importance cannot be overstated, with a five-year survival rate of 99% when caught early! However, identifying whether a skin spot is benign or a potential cancer indicator often can be challenging. That’s where skAI comes in to simplify and clarify the process. Originally developed as a proof of concept by NSC dermatologists Dr Lucinda Tan and A/Prof Hong Liang TEY with data scientists from the Institute for Infocomm Research at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research, skAI has evolved into two dedicated applications: skAI Lite and skAI Pro. These versions are designed for both personal and professional use, making screening more accessible to everyone while providing a comprehensive yet portable tool for medical professionals to assess if a skin lesion requires further investigation or intervention. skAI Lite is an app for all. Simply capture a photo of your skin lesion, guided by the app’s step-by-step features. Its AI-powered engine then generates an instant risk assessment, informing the user of next steps if further investigation is recommended. It serves as a record to aid in monitoring or to provide peace of mind. Designed by and for healthcare professionals, skAI Pro advances this further by utilizing dermatoscope imaging with our very own dermascope attachment on a mobile phone. Paired with AI analysis based on the ABCD rule of dermoscopy, it enables high sensitivity and specificity in evaluating skin lesions. We are proud to see this proof of concept, initially seeded by our National Healthcare Group CMTi-NHIC Medtech grant, progress from prototype to a viable product with EyRIS. With additional support from the Innovation to Industry (I2I) award, we thank National Health Innovation Centre (NHIC) for aiding this important journey towards more accessible skin cancer screening. Together, we’re moving closer to a future where early detection can make a meaningful difference. #SkinHealth #MelanomaAwareness #EarlyDetection #InnovationInHealthcare #DigitalHealth #SHBC2024

Our innovations are not only groundbreaking, but stay true to solving the unmet needs on the ground. This year at #SHBC2024, we are proud to have showcased our healthcare innovations at the Research and Innovation @NHG Exhibition, where we had the privilege of hosting Minister Ong Ye Kung to witness our advancements firsthand. The first of 3 projects highlighted was project PRIME CXR. It integrates an AI-powered chest X-ray (CXR) analysis solution, Lunit INSIGHT CXR, into our diagnostic radiology systems for use in primary care. This is a collaborative effort led by Tan Tock Seng Hospital's and National Healthcare Group Polyclinics’s radiologists Cher Heng Tan, Alvin Soon 孙涌泉 and primary care physician Qi Wei Fong. The innovative triage tool serves to prioritise urgent abnormal CXRs for review and has the potential to reduce patient wait times to early intervention or discharge. Thankful for the partnership with Lunit Cancer Screening and Resaro; as well as the support of Synapxe for the onboarding of Lunit INSIGHT CXR onto the AI Medical Imaging for SG Public Healthcare Platform #AIMSG. We appreciate the National Health Innovation Centre (NHIC)’s belief in and support for this transformative effort. It feels surreal to have had the opportunity to present our product to Guest of Honor, Minister Ong Ye Kung, at the Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress today. We are truly honored to be at the forefront of healthcare innovation and to witness firsthand the remarkable advancements in Singapore’s healthcare system. Minister Ong outlined a visionary strategy for health technology, highlighting AI and predictive preventive care as key areas of focus in the coming years. As a community health provider, we are excited about how our digitalized chronic disease management solution can contribute to this journey and support better healthcare for our aging population. A special shout-out to our most valued clinical mentor, advisor and partner, Dr Valerie Teo, for giving us the chance to co-develop this solution with the National Healthcare Group. We are committed to advancing decentralized healthcare for Singapore and beyond. #SGDiagnostics #NHGP #CMTI #HealthcareInnovation #DigitalHealth #ChronicDiseaseManagement #AgingPopulation #HealthTech #PredictiveCare #PreventiveHealthcare
