Our Resuscitation team attended an enriching and informative session on Psychological First Aid by the Singapore Red Cross last week.   This one-day training provided our Resuscitation team with skills that can be put to immediate use to help people in distress. Our newly-acquired knowledge will inform the work we do with beneficiaries and stakeholders, enhancing the quality of support available to the lifesaving community in Singapore.   We look forward to a continued and deeper collaboration with the Red Cross Singapore in the psychosocial space as we forge a more caring and compassionate #ForwardSingapore where everyone has the tools to support one another, heart and mind, during times of need.   #yourheartwecare #PsychologicalFirstAid #CommunitySupport #KnowledgeSharing #LifesavingSkills

Last Saturday, we brought together over 90 medical professionals for a seminar on Cardiovascular Prevention Strategies in Singapore. This event is marked by the release of our white paper, in partnership with the Singapore Cardiac Society and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and Amgen, which highlights the need for greater efforts in prevention to achieve good CVD outcomes. By fostering this conversation across disciplines, healthcare professionals gain a comprehensive approach to manage CVD risk factors in their patients and encourage the general population to pickup healthier lifestyles. #yourheartwecare #SHF #hearthealth

Our recently launched white paper highlights the burden that cardiovascular disease continues to have on our society and calls for greater efforts by stakeholders to achieve optimal heart health. Meet Lenard Kek – a survivor of heart attack who changed his lifestyle to protect his heart after his heart attack. Sudden death can happen unexpectedly, but there are ways to prevent it and act quickly to save lives. Professor Tan Huay Cheem (Huay Cheem Tan), Chairman of Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF), explained the difference between a heart attack and sudden cardiac arrest and demonstrated how to perform CPR and use an AED effectively. A member of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survivor Club, Mr Phua, was saved by the quick action of his friend and was invited to tell his story on the show. Although Mr Phua sadly passed away in April 2024, his experience is a powerful reminder of how important it is to be prepared to save a life.
